Rattler and NIL

I'm curious about what happens when NIL sponsors shell out big bucks for a player who enters the portal. I think I read somewhere that Rattler had scored a new truck and a new car. So, those sponsors are now up the proverbial creek?

This exactly. These deals are “ outside of the university” either side could argue it doesn’t matter where they play.

He has to give it back. Same thing with the QB at Ohio State. A local dealership gave him a new truck but it was only while he was at OSU. He had to give it back when he transferred to Texas.

When you transfer you basically have to give it back. Part of his NIL I'm sure is making appearances and other things for the dealership in exchange for the cars. You can't do that all the way across the country.

Ewers has other NIL deals in place, worth well over $1M. He may have had to return his truck, but the other deals are reportedly still in place and will be even more lucrative now back in Texas.

Of course. But we are talking about local car dealerships here. I doubt if DJ transfers Dr pepper is dropping him. But a local Clemson dealership probably would.
