Oct 11, 2014, 11:12 PM

What in the world were the refs looking at on G-Hop's catch near the sideline that was overturned?!? Looked good to 80,000+.....

for more than 80,000. It was a catch in several ways. I have no thoughts on what the officials saw.

looking at his hands and whether or not he controlled the ball to the ground. The replay on the jumbo was of his foot. His foot was not in question. I think having to control the ball to the ground when out of bounds is a stupid rule, but that is the way the zebras are consistently calling it.

Honestly

Thought that wasn't a bad call. GHop had a foot in bounds but the ball was still loose and not totally under control due to it being tipped. He gathered it in while in the air, and MAY have tapped a toe down before going OOB. But it was not obvious and not enough to overrule the call. Heck of an effort though, great concentration by Germone!

Funny how that play was reviewed....

but that catch by the louisville in same situation was not reviewed

BTW, watching on tv for various angles, I think he got his toe down and clearly had control of the ball

Hopper was facing when he made it (line judge?) and then the ref Hopper HAD HIS BACK TO came in and reversed the call.

The officiating was pretty terrible today.
