Purdy is a pretty good QB

In Fact; historic by Iowa St standards. But yet; Tiger D made him look pedestrian. Thank you coach V and now Coach Wes for fielding such a great D. That was a exhilarating to watch tonight. And YES. The Best is yet to Come !!!

He is good! A gamer as they say!
He isn't scared to be wrong and that is what DJU seems to be playing like to me. Not to make a mistake. Not to get hurt. Not to be imperfect.
Instead - he could learn a lot from Purdy - "just play" like you always have. Play like the kid that was a 5 star can't miss prospect and stop thinking so much.
Some NFL team is going to be happy with Purdy!

And DJ had better stats than Purdy! Who would have thought it?

What stats are you looking at? Perdy threw a TD and more yards against the #2 ranked scoring defense in the nation. I saw nothing out of DJ to compare him to Perdy. Perdy is going to the NFL and DJ is benched next year for Cade.

DJ: 21/32 187 yards, 5.8 yards per pass, 1 int, 6 carries for 12 yds
Purdy: 23/39 204 yds, 5.2 yards per pass, 1 int (should have been two interceptions), 1 TD, 5 carries for 14 yards, 1 fumble on fourth down that caused them to lose a first down play, and the game!
DJ had better completion percentage and more yards per completion. DJ had a lot of dropped passes, at least 2 that could have been TDs.
DJ's brother and father are reading all of this...I hope they know that all of you DJ haters are not what most of us believe...

All I saw was a QB that is going to the NFL and a QB that is being benched for a freshman next year.

Of course, you neglected to mention how highly ranked the I State defense is...must not have fit your narrative!

Our pass defense is ranked 2nd in the country. Theirs is #20 against worse competition. What narrative? DJ is trash.

Don't understand why you are still here. Obviously not a Clemson fan. Nothing but idiotic negative posts. If you are a kid, then grow up. If you are an adult, you need another outlet for your frustrations

Our D scored as many TD’s as our offense. I wouldn’t brag on his stats when we had to run the ball up the middle on a few 3rd and longs for the fear of him throwing a pass.

Call me old school, but if I'm the coach and you opt out of playing in the bowl game, there is NO WAY UNDER GOD'S GREEN EARTH, that you will travel with the team and stand on the sidelines wearing jersey.

Opt outs wouldn’t be getting the bowl gifts and enjoying the activities either.. I don’t get so many opt outs. A first rounder on a 6-6 team sure. I get the ISU RB but Pickett and others who can still increase stock and playing in a solid Bowl game makes no sense to me.

Totally agree. As for Purdy, I was thinking during the game that if we had him at QB we would have been in the CFP this year

Not with his stats tonight. BYW, Iowa State is also a top 10 defense.

if Clemson had a QB like Purdy or Pickett, we would be in the CFP. No question about it IMO.
