My last living grandparent went home to be with the lord at 12:40 this morning. She was 94 and in the final stages of kidney and congestive heart failure. It is so hard not having any grandparents anymore. I just pray she’s with my grandpa now.

before I was born. Maternal grandfather died when I was a year old. Maternal grandmother died when I was 9. She had been being shuffled around from home to home for several years, as my mom was one of her TEN children. They didn't put parents out to pasture in nursing homes back then, they took care of them on their own.
But, grandma didn't really like having to change living conditions every year or so, so she was generally not a happy camper. Therefore, I never really had the experience of loving grandparents much at all. So, I envy those of you who did. Cherish what you had, because for sure everybody didn't get to have it.
