Gotta have spine surgery in a little while to fix a disc and lumbar stenosis. God is good, and I’m grateful for anyone who might take a little time interceding with Him on my behalf in Jesus’s name today.

**UPDATE**
Surgery was successful but a little more involved than first thought. Recovery is slow - they had to keep me overnight because of a dural tear (the sac around your spinal cord). I’ve had to be flat on my back motionless all night (which sucks) but now they’re inclining my bed up by degrees to make sure there’s no leaking of spinal fluid. So far I’m at 45 deg incline and doing fine. Please keep praying I can progress quickly enough to go home today! Thanks, Tigers.

and around ye olde lumbar region, let me warn you. It will probably be a calendar year before you will fully feel like you have your legs back completely under you again. That is, if the disc has been impacting your spinal cord for awhile like mine was. Don't sweat it, it WILL get better over time. At least, that is the hoped for outcome.
Prayers that the Lord guides the surgeon's hands, and you have a very successful outcome. But, if I could impress upon you one thing, it would be this, the same thing my father told me, and he was right. Your back will never, ever again be what it was before the back problems began. It just won't. That is not to say the surgery won't turn out well. But, forever after, you will need to be mindful of your back, and think twice before you do heavy lifting, or anything REALLY stupid that would strain even a normal back. Words to live by.

Prayers for your safety and a speedy recovery. I hope you are as fortunate as I was when I had my disc repaired at L5 and clean up done L1 thru L4 to take pressure off the nerves. The Dr told me to not be surprised if it took 7 months or longer to get all the feeling back. I felt feeling better almost immediately and moving good in less than a month. Luckily, I had full feeling back in about 3 months. Patience and following doctors orders will help. ?
