Think you are talking about Lennys(Dennys) not waffle house...one of my fondest memories of my time at CCC was of late night trips to the waffle house on I85 at Anderson for the late night truckers special..sometimes we all had to sit in one large booth...took Kentucky jelly to get us all in..Clemson did not have a WH back then!

Love it. T-bone steak and eggs with eggs over easy and hashbrowns. Then I have to order cheese grits.
Unfortunately I have not had the awful Waffle in 10 years as I am in MN.

one Christmas Day, my family and I were travelling back from Alabama. Of course, Waffle House was the only restaurant open. I had a grilled chicken plate with a salad and something else. It was great!
Otherwise, I like omelets with sausage, cheese, and onions with grits (sometimes hash browns) and waffle.

Texas Patty Melt with plain hash browns

and I don't trust anyone who thinks they are too good to eat at Waffle House. They are effete, pseudo-intellectual snobs.
Most (not all) of the ones I've visited are clean (the ceiling tiles are yellow on purpose. Haven't figured that one out yet) with a limited menu of decent quality but economical food (try dining at Hall's Chophouse for $27.00 per couple including the tip) and a friendly staff that is genuinely eager to please their customers.
Like I said, if you're too good for that, you are way above my raising.
Disclaimer - my comments weren't aimed at any one person in particular. Just saying...

One half of a piece of toast I save for strawberry jelly.
Other favorite is a waffle cooked well, swimming in butter, and an order of sausage. I eat about half the waffle only buttered, the rest with syrup.
