BV is the best DC I can remember at Clemson. But I also remember Danny Ford had some good ones who built bone crushing Defenses.
BV still had a lot to prove as a Head Coach. I get confused with some post. Some of them have Dabo as the reason Clemson Football is having adversity this year but he does not receive credit for leading Clemson through the best History in Clemson Football.
You either give him credit for everything or for nothing. Some of the posters on Tigernet have to be Trolls attempting to cause division within Clemson Football, or we have a bunch of jump on the bandwagon when we are winning and jump off when we are losing. Either way I would not consider you a true diehard, I love Clemson fan. “ All In “ fan.

I also think the rehash thing never works, no matter who it is. If Nick Saban went back to LSU or Bama he wouldnt be as dominant anymore in this environment. he cant horde like he did for 15 years when Bama dominated.
If Urban Meyer went back to Florida he would fail big time, again things move on......people seem to forget his ending at Florida was he was falling off anyway then he faked health problems, sat out for a year and took OHIO State Job............to be honest i'm starting to wonder if his 2nd wind at Ohio State was all just really ryan day winning him games ( he was the OC)
having said all that i wish Clemson fans could just accept there wont be any Jeff Scott, BV rehashes and you shouldnt even wish for one, magic in a bottle only hits for a short time for most good coaches and with Dabo i think its run out, i'm thankful for his time and success as a great coach but this era has passed him by he is no Saban, Kirby or Day level where he can keep it humming at super high level anymore.
we just need to accept that and not hold on to the distant past, need to get real, Kirby, Saban and Day never had some 5 year drought like Dabo is having after reaching peak level, this is the decline but Dabo is just selling clemson admin and fans snake oil cliche speeches now

And you did so well until the end…all three had NC droughts..just as long or close to as long as Clemson. Go back and check…OSU NC in 2014 and then 10 years before another…UGA: no NC since 2022…one 2 after 1980 (like Clemson won 2 after 1983)…Ala won last one in 2020, Saban resigned in 2024 after 4 years of drought…hmmm…Not saying we don’t need changes but read…yes we r on a drought but not a 10 yr drought…is will get worse w big schools spending $35-38M on players. Will be hard for us to keep up at those levels. Want changes? Ask yourself if you have given $10k or more to the Clemson NIL collective? If you don’t like current NCAA NIL Wild West have you contacted your Senator/House of Representative for change? I can tell you wout significant changes to NIL and enforcement or wout significant increases in Clemson fans contributions to the NIL collective, we will continue to struggle NO matter the coaches.

Brent Venables has been the the top assistant coach in the 125 year history of Clemson Football. He fixed a completely broken Clemson Defense that had just given up 70 points against WVA in the Orange Bowl. Clemson's record during Venables' tenure was 121-17. He's resurrected depleted Oklahoma and just ended Alabama's 17 game home winning streak which was the longest active streak in college football. Oklahoma has the #1 Defense in the nation.
Instead of raising the level of Clemson Football, you have slurred Brent Venables for no purpose.

How about Goodwin? He might of complained about players not doing there job, but I never heard him complain about the lack of talent. Allen complains that he doesn't have the talent for this defense to be successful and somehow he has sold that BS to the ones on the Roar. Maybe he'll figure it out but he has done a p!ss poor job of coaching this year. Many of us would love to see BV back because we DO HAVE and have had talent on our defense and it has been squandered since he left.
