There have been multiple instances of citizens being attacked by these goons...for little to no reason.
It doesn't matter what good, if any they have done at this point. These are major civil rights violations.

So, ICE and Border Patrol BAD? That's it? That's the whole story?

In no way am I defending ANYTHING they are doing that is illegal or violating anybody's civil rights, but if we follow your reasoning, we'd have to conclude that all police are bad too - POLICE ARE THE ENEMY! #### THE POLICE! - because a lot of them are bad as well. We could claim the same thing about our entire justice system, what with all of the crooked judges and lawyers. Then there's doctors and insrance salesmen, and really, when you think about it there's a lot of bad, nasty people in every part of life, all over the world. Just set fire to all of it.
Yeah, some of these guys are behaving like thugs. It's dispicable and they should be held accountable. I'm pretty sure that most of them are just trying to do their jobs, enforcing the law, and it's flat out wrong to paint them all with that same brush just because they are acting on behalf of a political figure you oppose. Of course it doesn't in any way excuse any wrongdoing, thuggery, or civil rights violations, but those things are NOT the whole story, as many truly bad guys and people that should not be here are being caught.

Oh, and at the moment ICE and Border patrol as organizations are bad. This is because they are being run by people who couldn't care less about civil rights.

that today if I could. Having said that, they are getting rid of a lot of bad people who should not be here, people that are here to do you and other Americans harm, and you should be able to separate that out and be thankful. That does NOT require an endorsement of Trump or MAGA.

Do we know who they’re deporting? We really think they’re all criminals? That’s a fairly naive perspective. Many people being deported hang shingles on roofs, work in chicken plants, and take care of memaws. They’re rounding people up at Home Depots for gods sake.
Tightening the border is one thing, but shipping out people who have been here 30 years working hard is another. Are some criminals? Yes, of course. Are they all criminals? I suppose that depends on your point of view. You can say yes being here illegally is a crime, but doesn’t that miss the spirit of what it means to live in this country?
It’s also shooting ourselves in the foot to deport our labor force, if you want to view it from a more economic and academic point of view.
I’m afraid people have been conditioned to fear or despise immigrants, and I don’t believe that’s fair or right.

and Border Patrol appearing to violate people's civil rights and behaving like thugs paints an inaccurate, incomplete picture of ICE/Border Patrol. If that not only typified, but summed up ICE/Border Patrol, so be it; but it doesn't. I stand by that.
I’m afraid people have been conditioned to fear or despise immigrants, and I don’t believe that’s fair or right.
Undoubtedly, there are people like that, but I truly believe that the vast majority of Americans simply want secure borders and sensible, controlled immigration that works for the benefit of American citizens first and foremost. It's been a disaster for decades, and I'm all for reforms in that direction.

If it's happening this much

And there are these many recorded incidents of masked agents behaving this way, don't you at some point have to think this is the standard that has been set and not the exception.
Like, we know some Clemson fan is going to act like a ####### at some point during tailgating. But you and I have been there enough--and enough of our opposing fans have as well--to know that this is the exception, not the norm.
But you go to a place like UGA where you can't walk down the street without being harassed and every opposing fan dreads going there, then you start to realize that this is maybe the culture they embrace and encourage.
At this point, there's too much evidence against ICE. This is standard, and likely a policy as well, to treat people this way.

No. My point is that yes, that is the impression created when we see clip after clip of violations and misbehavior, with ZERO clips of them doing good things like getting bad guys off of the street, and properly removing people who are here illegally. Again, in no way am I defending the bad behavior, or suggesting that it should be ignored. I'm simply pointing out the FACT that it is a totally one-sided, incomplete picture.
Like, we know some Clemson fan is going to act like a ####### at some point during tailgating. But you and I have been there enough--and enough of our opposing fans have as well--to know that this is the exception, not the norm.
And here we are again. The clips we see on here and on most of algorithm-fed social media are naturally not showing the norm; it's not intended to, and zero effort is made to do so. It's only examples of injustice, which rightly enrages and concerns good citizens like you and me. We all have tailgated enough at Clemson to know, having experienced it first hand may times, that it is a great, fun, safe environment. We have a solid first-hand, real-world body of data upon which to compare and consider when we form opinions and draw conclusions. We have nothing close to that in the case of ICE/Border Control videos on Tnet or the internet in general.
There are thousands of cases of police abuse and corruption every year. That IS a huge, important problem that demands our vigilance and response. That does not mean that COPS ARE BAD. If a polarlizing ### like Trump was in charge of all police, a lot more people would be drawing that conclusion, however, and I think that's what was happening here.
I don't like the idea of military stormtroopers going into our cities and rounding people up. I wish it could be done differently. Unfortunately, decades of failed policy has created this problem, and yes, with millions of illegals here, it is a major problem. Is this way of fixing it politically motivated by Trump, swinging his dik and making a statement? Absolutely. But it is a real problem, and most Americans want it fixed.

How many good arrests does it take to justify 1 harassed law abiding citizen
Nov 19, 2025, 9:24 AM

In my opinion that equation never balances. Actions like this are the reason the 2nd amendment exists. Armed agents of the government (British) trampled all over the rights of citizens and our forefathers wanted those citizens to be able to defend themselves. Before the indefatigable morons like Kiwi pipe in; I am totally and categorically against anyone committing an act of violence against ICE or CBP, but it’s going to happen; and that’s what Trump wants. The moron in chief has put our local law enforcement in an impossible position by committing this act of blatant political punishment.
Ask yourself why they are here? Our crime rate is lower than Birmingham, Little Rock, KC, Cleveland, Milwaukee; and we’re way farther away from the border than Dallas, Austin and any city in OK or LA. Local law enforcement, city leaders, state leaders, citizens; all don’t want em here. Do we only have states rights if that state voted MAGA? This admin uses the US constitution as toilet paper. I’ve heard one person defend their presence; the chairman of the Meck county Republican Party who has never won an election. It’s telling that the only person defending the deployment is a MAGA honk.

Of course a trillion good actions don't justify one bad or wrong action. If you think that's what I'm doing, you are totally misunderstanding, and perhaps as a result of your misunderstanding, misrepresenting my position.
It's simple. People who are here illegally, without going through the legal process, should not be here. Period. Cut and dried. I don't care who or which side is responsible, or which failed policies have allowed or created it. I don't need a side or group to blame. More importantly, people who are here illegally, without going through the process, AND commit crimes, especially violent crimes or crimes that cause harm to people's lives, should be removed. That can, and should be done as humanely as possible, without violating anyone's civil rights.
Once we accept that, it remains simple. Agencies like ICE and Border Control are doing a good thing when they do it the right way. They do that a lot. They are doing a bad thing when they don't do it the right way; and as you are pointing out, it's always wrong when they do. All of which goes back to my original point . . .
The clips we see repeatedly on here, and elsewhere on social media and on the news, of these agencies doing it wrong, violating people's rights, paint an uncomplete and inaccurate picture of what they are doing as a whole. Their mission, to remove bad guys and people who are here illegally, to the extent they do it properly, is good and just. It's only wrong to the extent they abuse their power, which is always wrong, every time.

Let me sum this up. Govt officials, in this case LEOs, don’t get a cookie, for doing the right thing. That’s the minimum expectation. Just like I don’t get a pat on the back for doing my job. For those doing it right, good for them. The expectation is the follow the constitution and Fed/ local laws and case law. When they don’t they should be held accountable and WE THE PEOPLE should be outraged. As of now there is 0 accountability and this behavior seems to be escalating and encouraged. LEOs already have a shield of qualified immunity, which allows them to get away with murder (literally). What happens when you give guys guns, and a badge and say do what’re the #### you want??
We have a constitution, and it didn’t go away in 25

I agree they need to be put on blast, and even shut down until they answer for it if that's what it takes. Do better.
I still think a much better comparison is regular police; lots of corruption and abuse. We still need police, and most are doing it the right way, so we don't say "police bad". There is a means of accountability for police, but corruption produces a lot of looking the other way and lax punishment.
I would still love to see it done the right way, using ICE and Border Patrol to actively go after and get rid of criminals who are here illegally, and letting anyone who is here illegally know that they could be deported. Zero apologies for that.

And literally NOTHING is being done to stop it by the higher ups--in fact, it seems encouraged--means the agency is a complete failure as a whole and any "good" they're doing is inconsequential. As Tigre said, doing the right thing in LE is supposed to be the SOP.

You said “Agencies like ICE and Border Control are doing a good thing when they do it the right way”, the same could be said for radiation. If you use it to cure cancer or create electricity great, If you build a dirty bomb out of it no so much. Trump isn’t using the agencies to protect Americans; he’s turned em into a dirty bomb to sow chaos in the communities that didn’t vote for him. Honestly that’s a violation of his oath to defend the constitution. CLT has a lower crime rate and (anecdotally) less illegals than many Republicans cities; clearly these antics aren’t about promoting public safety. Also this isn’t your father’s ICE; there are many credible reports of DHS just green lighting new agents that previously didn’t make the cut. These new folks are plain and simple henchmen hired to do the president’s political bidding.
Not even the Dems dispute that illegal immigration is a problem; Trump is using that as an excuse to punish his political enemies

I have already pointed out that Trump is politically motivated and trying to punish his enemies. He is flat out wrong for doing that. No excuse, no justifying it by me. Nor do I support any violation of civil rights or abuses of power.
ICE is, however, totally justified in going after illegal aliens who are committing crimes, and honestly, anybody who is here illegally, and I support them in that no matter who is president.
I am able to separate those things out, and praise one while condemning the other.

You're still thinking of this ICE as the old ICE. It's the worst of the worst of new recruits, driven by monetary incentive bonuses and people who are blindly loyal to Trump. The motives of these individuals is not the good of the country. It's the good of themselves, playing out their fantasies, and obeying anything Trump.
And the goal here by Trump and Stephen Miller is not really immigration enforcement. It's creating a blindly loyal police force that will do their bidding at all costs. I know y'all will scoff oftentimes at Nazi/fascist comparisons, but Stephen Miller is using a tired old playbook:
1. Create secret police force. They can hide their identities and they can't be held accountable. 2. Promise the populous you're using it to target criminals. 3. Once you get support, instead use the secret police force to target weak minorities that won't fight back. The public may not like some of it, but they're still on board for the supposed greater good. I think you're at this stage in your support. 4. See what abuses and atrocities you can accomplish. How far can you push it? What can you get away with? Ignore the Constitution and take the approach of arrest first whenever you feel like it, ask questions later. 5. Eventually shift targets into the citizenry. Use this force to take out anyone who shows dissent or a potential threat to the authoritarian regime. 6. Eventually create a system where citizenry can be stripped at the president's decision, thus using the full force of this secret police against dissidents.
It's happened so many times in history. We're at Stage 4.
The end game is targets like you and me, Smiling. The old versions of ICE are what you support. This new version is being crafted for a far bigger purpose than immigration enforcement.

People who came here illegally, cut in line and ignored the process, then engaged in criminal activity, should be actively sought out and deported. Furthermore, nobody who entered illegally (barring legitimate assylum seekers) deserves to be here ahead of those who are going through the process. Using ICE and Border Patrol, as long as the rights of innocent people are not violated, is totally legitimate.
I ask for nothing more.

Arrest them and send them back. Do it humanely. Send them to their home countries, not a concentration camp in Africa. Allow a case-by-case review for extenuating circumstances, such as involving children and families.
Do it humanely. Due process. Don't do it in public. No masks. Officers are identified. No cruelty.
We have done that before. It does work.
Do this and I'll be behind ICE 100 percent.

So far this year, 538 litigation cases against ICE
Nov 19, 2025, 7:53 AM
|
|
Nearly 250 are active cases. The videos, of course, are substantial and unprecedented for any agency in America.
Here's where it gets really fun: ICE refuses to disclose complaints against the department or if any agent is held accountable or even how many people their agency has killed.
Look, I'm with you that we need to enforce illegal immigration, and I supported ICE's efforts in previous administrations. Trump and Stephen Miller have turned this into something evil and they're hiring the worst of the worst to work it.
And I promise you, the end game is to eventually turn them on you and me.

There were 2 police misconduct investigations in Charlotte in the last 5 years that I can remember. Both ended up being BS, in favor of the police, proven by video. There have been 4 in the last few days that I have seen, and the video ain't looking good for the bad guys.

windows, hauling people out of their cars and throwing them into unmarked cars and speeding away?
That doesn’t sound like any America I know, but it’s now reality. They hauled some local dude off that was a US citizen down here and they didn’t bother to confirm his identity until he’d been transported to some shidhole in TX. Taxpayers will end up paying a nice bill on that suit.
Once was enough, now it’s every day and I’m phukkin tired of it.

A law enforcement agency that permits this behavior on any scale does 0.0 good for society.

Zero qualms from me. It pizzes me off too, as it should everyone. I still fully support actively finding, catching and deporting all illegals who have broken our laws, especially those who have committed violent or serious crimes, and that part of it should be recognized and praised.

Unfortunately, it's pretty obvious that these organizations cannot be trusted to do this in right way.

I agree that this is definitely a political power play by Trump.

He's making a statement and going after his enemies. It's what he does; that's his game.
I don't agree that's all it is. I think that utilizing these agencies to round up violent and criminal illegals is a good thing, and that is definitely happening.

so frequently or not telling the whole story is that we do not know what we are getting.
Were the people obstructing police activity and then refused to get out of the car when asked.
At “simple” (no such thing) traffic stop can be someone doing 5 over with no insurance. That can easily become a lethal force situation. Then that becomes “police kill lady for a civil infraction”. Which is true, but just incited what they want, animosity and anger. Just release the body cam video and it’s squashed or we see the ####### was an #######

What are you personally seeing?

I see citizens obstructing, which is a felony. I also see citizens getting way too close and the officers pushing them back.
Ever heard of the 20’ rule? An officer cannot react to lethal force within 20’. So if you pull a gun on an officer within 20’, then it’s is almost impossible for an officer to pull and shoot. That is why you hear them screaming get back all the time.
People need to stand back, film or whatever, but people are getting too close and often endangering the lives of the officer. Far more times that the reverse.
Plus if all of this is true. Lawyers will be aplenty. Unlawful detention and arrest are not hard to prove.

See the videos in this thread.
The border patrol have attacked and arrested 1) a US citizen who they claimed touched their car 2) a US citizen who blew their horn 3) a US citizen who was sitting in a parking lot (they busted his window). They ultimately had to let all these people go. This is just in 3 days in Charlotte.
The ultimate net of these coordinated actions will be that a lot of people that gave the Police the benefit of the doubt, will no longer do so, and will have very little trust for anyone that has 'Police' on a uniform.

Innocent WGN employee commuting to work, falsely accused of throwing something at ICE, thrown to the ground with her pants down, and then hauled away (and ICE agents wrecked someone else's car doing it).
Every time I ask a MAGA what they would do if that were their wife, they clam up. They know what they would do.

I was just talking about the incidents that have happened in Charlotte over the past few days. Seems like a pretty high rate of detaining and causing physical and property damage to US citizens who were ultimately released.
We do occasionally get these sorts of bad policing incidents with CMPD, but they're typically over a matter of years and not days. At some point a reasonable person has to think this sort of behavior is being encouraged or at the very least ignored by their supervision.
From a political perspective, Cooper will have an easy win in the Senate race. This is not sitting well with Charlotteans, I can tell you that.

No. The Tueller drill shows that they can get off two shots in that time it took a person to close the distance. So they "can" react and it's not "almost impossible"; it's just far more dangerous for the officer.
Unlawful detention and arrest are not hard to prove.
How about stop ####### do it altogether instead of arresting first and asking questions later? Why do you want a dictatorship so badly and hate our Constitution?

Can you find outliers. Sure. I have worked with Army snipers that can do it. If you have ever shot with a regular officer, almost impossible.
This is a place where people who have no experience think they know more and you don’t and can’t understand unless you have been through the training.
We use 20’ due to easier to remember. Back up 20’ makes way more sense than 21 and really the foot doesn’t matter.
I am 100% done with you. You keep pushing your narratives. I am done.

But you didn't even know what the actual name of the rule was, so there's that. It's not impossible, but it's certainly difficult. Yeah, I know why officers tell people to back up and it's because of that. But you spouted off some silliness about it.
I am 100% done with you. You keep pushing your narratives. I am done.
Sure you are, just like your little rage quit a few months ago. Not surprising you make up some bull #### about me then run away when challenged on it.
Also, I'd crush you in a shooting range contest. Any day. I am extremely accurate with my Glock 22. Maybe you actually wouldn't run away from that bet.

Law Enforcement attends our churches, lives in our neighborhoods, has kids who play soccer with our kids. If you want I can take a picture of the police officer who lives 4 doors down from me here in Mecklenburg county. We like him, respect him; when his house was damaged in a fire last year we helped him get back on his feet. When we have concerns and need help we knock on his door; he goes to the Methodist church 2 miles away. He’s here to protect us. These are thugs, many of whom have criminal records of their own, who just wanna play cop and terrify brown people. Our law enforcement didn’t ask them to be here; in fact they want them gone. BUT you don’t care about any of this sheet because you’re a phuquing loser who only cares what your lord and master Donny tells you. NC is still a swing state and this brain dead loser has made a serious mistake. We’re gonna remember these scenes for a long time and it’s gonna cost MAGA elections.
PS go phuque yourself

CMPD isn't crazy about Natty Guard doing police work.
Nov 20, 2025, 10:02 AM
|
|
The one CMPD self-defense trainer I spoke with, who is also in the Army Reserves so has an even tighter perspective on this, says that CMPD officers to through extensive training at the academy, in addition to the yearly training they have. National Guard has next to zero training on actual law enforcement skills. You don't want the national guard (or ICE, for this matter) doing what they're doing. They're not trained for it. They're not good at it. The results speak for themselves.

what's going on is Stephen Miller hates immigrants. AI sez:

[ in reply to This looks terrible, but it sure would be nice to get a complete, honest ] |

*The 3,000 arrest goal: In May 2025, reports from sources familiar with the meetings indicated that Miller demanded immigration agents seek to arrest 3,000 people a day. *Broader target: This goal was not limited to immigrants with criminal records and included the broader population of undocumented immigrants. *Administration's denial: The Trump administration denied the existence of a daily quota, while noting that they were looking to set a minimum goal of 3,000 arrests per day. *Impact of the goal: Immigration advocates and judges have noted that this numerical target could lead to the administration employing extreme tactics that may violate due process.
So, how long would it take to round up 3,000 immigrants who have committed criminal acts in the US, the "worst of the worst"?

When you’re out at the golf club there in Southern Pines do you just assume that all of those Hispanic folks who are serving you are illegal? You should ask each and every one of em about their immigration status and demand documentation. Why not you’re just as qualified to do so as many of these ICE agents, and they’re actively causing as much mayhem as the harassed folks here in CLT. Yeah we know that ain’t gonna happen cause you’re just a message board pootnanny.

when you have groups of Americans who want to start a civil war to wipe out people who don't agree with them, but they are small enough that they can't just start one, this seems like a pretty good avenue to cause the kind of chaos that could lead into wide spread unrest that could lead to worse.
