We have 1 quality starter, after that ,this staff as a whole is a head scratcher.
Bakich needs to hit the portal for some quality arms from quality programs if they become available.Im also not sold on Belanger as our coach for this group.Offensively we can play as good as any team in the country,even with all the blunders this team makes, but our pitching doesn’t allow for any mistakes.Hope we can recover on a strong note to end the season and get ready for postseason.

Well this game exposed weaknesses in our hitting especially some in pitching. There was only 2 innings out of the whole game that we got some hits. No wonder the team batting average is so low. I hope they can regroup and sweep Duke but they have to face a very good Coastal team first down at their field.

I would say reverse that. The rotation of Knaak, Titsworth, amd Bailey works. Bullpen is very good. It was poorly managed this weekend. Our hitting is the problem with base running blunders trying to make up for it. Either way I love this team and am in to the end.

Pitching overall has not been a problem until the last couple of series. You don't win 1 run games with bad pitching. Mahlstedt leads the nation in saves. Knaak gave up 8-11 runs in 4 innings against NC State, and has not been immune to this two week slump they are on. Two series left to kick this trend they are on and still a whole lot left on the plate.
