including where he lives, his efforts and success furthering his education, and frankly, his passion for Clemson. JK has a wealth of knowledge about our basketball program that certainly surpasses mine, and if you read most of his posts with an open mind, he provides food for thought. Perhaps, it's the old Editor in me, for while serving as the Editor-in-Chief of "The Tiger" way back when, I looked specifically for their types of talent to serve as Columnists on our staff to provide unbiased, reasoned thoughts.
The facts are our football program has problems, although all programs do. But we are interested in our own; hence, why it's important to have all types of opinions expressed, even those that question our efforts to address issues. I'm a huge Dabo supporter; I know what he's done for Clemson; I trust he will continue to address our deficiencies. However, I also know he's not infallible; he has made some mistakes on staff, our rosters, our game management, the most glaring of which was on DJ. I'm also not convinced we have the right staff in place, but Clemson is paying him to handle the program, not me.
Lastly, per my comments above, if someone like JK had been around during my stint as the Editor, I would have begged him to serve on staff in a skinny minute. PBT would have been begged to serve as a Features Columnist, mainly due to his interests. I might add having their types of minds, which we did at the time, is precisely why our paper, "The Tiger," was named one of the Top 25 in the nation via its All American Award. Why do I mention this? Because to me, TigerNet is a helll of a lot more interesting with the likes of both JK and PBT participating! There, I've said it.....
By the way, best wishes to you.

This is why I dislike many sports journalists. You say Dabo has made mistakes. Are you qualified enough to decide that he’s made mistakes? If you are so all knowing, why aren’t you a head coach somewhere? Dabo and other coaches know way more than you about football and how to do their jobs. JK is an absolute clown who sits behind a computer and takes every chance he can to bash Clemson football program.

not me, to handle our program. That means that the powers-that-be believe him the best qualified person to be in our HC position.
My experience is certainly not on the frontlines, but rather as a dedicated follower of college football and Clemson football in particular, now for over 60 years. Anyone with the longevity of that kind of dedication to a sport, business, organization will have gained a certain amount of insight to be able to offer reasoned opinions. Obviously, mine are not infallible, and true, they are mine...opinions, which we all have and which are varied. The most important realization is that I understand and agree with Clemson's having Dabo Swinney in his role rather than someone like me.
Because I know no person nor program is infallible, I can only relate my observations based on what I've seen or see. And I do believe we have issues that need addressing. That others will disagree is something I certainly would expect and welcome. Hence, why I appreciate your response. As for JK, you and no doubt, others have your opinions, and I have mine. I understand yours, and with all due respect, beg to differ.
Best wishes to you, also.

That's the best defense against naysayers. They can't do it so they love to stand on the sidelines, sit in the stands or in front of a TV and complain about someone else's mistakes. That makes them so smart (in their heads).

Are you saying only Dabo is qualified to judge his own performance? Fans in the stands and butt's in the seats pay his salary. Many a coach have lost their job due to dissatisfied fans. Granted, fans are finicky and not experts, however, that doesnt relegate them to being ignorant in the ways of sports. To take the matter further, how about politics? Have you ever been President? Are you not allowed to comment on their actions?

post length; however, I can assure you there are busloads, trainloads, whatever you will, of "journalists," who could be called anything but liberal, scattered across our land.
Both types, along with the in-betweens, can be found in every form of media, including personal bloggers on the internet. Thus, I can't lump all in one category as being liberals.

This place would be dull without contention. My only dread is that many of the Tnetters find negative comments elsewhere and spit them out here. PBT is not one of those naysayers. His heart is found within his writings and it's clear his blood runs Orange.
My concerns go more toward people wanting to see Dabo fail so they can proclaim themselves to be right. I've broached that border and can testify that it's a miserable place to be.
I wonder if PBT was one of the many here who hated the Dabo hire?
I also wonder if folks here understand that Dabo's hires are often accounted to his desire to teach and his love for those who he knows are willing to learn. A teacher and a student at the same time. That's his aspiration and mine.
Is there a DC we respect and treasure more than Venables? I'm satisfied that Brent came here to learn to run a program the right way and selected Dabo to be the guy to study under. His intent was to be a head coach all along.

in the past, was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
As time progressed, I thought, "Welp, that's why Tommy Bowden and Terry Don Phillips were and are in the positions they were, and not me."
After the 81 title, I never imagined we would claim another. That I lived long enough to witness Dabo Swinney lead us to two more was a blessing in of itself. Regardless of the time Dabo remains, I will always be thankful for his tenure.
Hope you have a great holiday season!

Same here. He went on a childish rant and called me a bunch of names then deleted those comments and put me on ignore along with 65 others. JK doesn’t put people many people on ignore. He just takes his cheap shot opportunities and tries to aggravate the “cultists” with his (sometimes) veiled criticism of Dabo and the football program. They don’t seem much alike to me other than both of them seeming to believe they are the smartest guy in the room.

Isn't Jk the definition of biased? Always slams Dabo , football, and many things Clemson (overalls, not understanding AG beginnings, etc), and always takes up for coach BB, regardless.
That said, I appreciate his BB posts based on facts.
