I initially had trouble buying the 16.5 point spread over A&M. Why? Probably due to the close score last year AND Trevor having a rather pedestrian game last week against an obviously inferior opponent.
My view has changed a little bit due to several factors that I thought through. First, we played in their building last year, and Kyle Field is difficult … but we'll be in the Valley this week. Second, we were still experimenting with QB's last year, and I think A&M was committed to stop the run, which made KB less effective … and Trevor was very, very new in a very, very hostile setting. I don't recall ETN playing a lot, and Justyn Ross played in just one snap I believe. But most of all, I don't ever recall a QB making throws like Mond did last year, one … a blind throw as I recall … that were as well defended by us as they could possibly be … and yet somehow, some way they literally went through, off or just beyind our defenders' hands and the football gods let them be completed passes for TD's.
I don't see Mond and his receivers having the same horseshoes in their body cavities this year as they did last year, and I see TL stepping up his game with Tee and Justyn … and I see a 37-14 W for the Tigers. This isn't quite beating the spread, but it'll do! That is all!
