No bowl opt-outs

How many other major P5 programs can claim that? Siriusly wondering if any others can say the same.
That says a lot to me about Clemson culture. Hopefully that will remain the case through the bowl game and no one will change their minds.
Clemson is far from perfect. But it's special. You could even say that... there's something special in these hills. That has a good ring to it - I need to try to do something with that.

Since none of them would play it doesn't count. We're talking about starters who expect to be high draft picks.

Whether they are starters or not they are not permitted to play another game with their current school once they declaere for the portal declaring for the portal is the deciding factor.

There's a difference between opting out of the bowl game

and deciding to opt out, or transfer, from the team altogether. A bowl opt-out is typically distinguished as someone who is choosing to forego the bowl game so they can focus on draft preparation. We have none of those. They're technically still on the team, and frequently appear on the sidelines of the bowl games, but opt not to play so as to avoid the potential for injuries that would compromise their draft status.
A transfer is someone who wants to leave the program entirely, will not be at the bowl game, and is no longer on the team.

There is a difference in saying you are going the portal prior to the portal actually opening and declaring. Once it opens and you enter (declare) you can not play in another game with your present school if you wanted to. You do not have that option. You could wait until after the bowl game but they are not going to do that and loose their best chance of finding a home in the portal. The driving force in decision making is not playing in a bowl game. It is whether to enter the portal or not.

They are not OPTING out of the bowl game, They are choosing to go in the portal. Once they choose the portal they are not permitted to play in another game with their current school.

That should not be that difficult to understand. This is one of those instances where you can not have your cake and eat it too.

9 guys

Which is a lot. Of course you’ll say they’re transferring so they don’t count to fit your narrative. So you’ll put the asterisk there.
The Clemson culture is strong whether we have people stay or transfer and opt out. The culture isn’t one or 10 people. It’s just you want it to sound like we’re so special because we have no opt outs. Okay. I’m just saying I disagree. We have 9 guys that were apart of our team and now we don’t have them.
Clemson IS SPECIAL. Just don’t sound so fan boy where what you say ha every other fan from another school rolling there eyes at you.

Is 9 a lot? In 2021, 16% of all FBS football players entered the portal.
9 is below that average.
