Obviously is still coaching. If he wasn’t he’d already be announced by now. Fingers crossed the broncos lose and it’s Jim Leonhard.

I agree. Why wait this long after firing the coach if it isn’t someone still coaching. Wouldn’t we want to get them on campus ASAP? Keeping my fingers crossed that it’s Leonhard as well

I think it’s been done quietly and Dabo knows and whoever it is has accepted or said they were very interested at least… but doesn’t want to make anything public during the playoffs which I respect. I think he’s had to tell guys like heldt and Alexander what the plans were I mean why would guys like that commit not knowing who their coach would be?

Leonhard has been with Broncos for one year. Actually one season. He has been successful there , Why do you guys think he would want to go back to coaching on the collegiate level?
Imho: There is going to be a lot of disappointed people. I don't think he will be coming to Clemson. I haven't the slightest clue who our next DC will be. I am hoping NOT in house .... the way our defense has looked in the last 2 years, the position coaches and assistants need a good stirring up.

He didn't voluntarily leave college. Wisconsin fired him as the interim HC and after taking a year off for hip surgery, Sean Payton called. I 100% think he's interested. But I'm sure he's gonna have options. Just my prediction but I think he's the guy. Don't underestimate Dabo as a salesman. He did manage to get Coach V and Riley here after all.

It would have 100% been announced by now… we can all criticize Dabo for some of the hires he made at a time when we could have gotten anyone we wanted (that criticism is warranted) but you also can’t ignore the fact that the man realizes when he’s made a mistake and fixes (Riley and Luke). I will be shocked if it’s an internal hire and the ONLY reason we would think about that is banking on BV getting fired and him coming back. But you can’t waste a year with the offense we will have next year.

I keep hearing this thing about blaming the position coaches for the declining performance of the defense and that just doesn't make any sense. Eason, Reed and Rumph have been coaching football for decades and their ability to recruit and develop players speaks for itself. Now we want to act like all of a sudden these guys have forgot how to Coach? No that is not the case. The idiotic decision to make Wes the DC is the problem. How can you expect Reed, Eason and Rumph to make up/cover up for Wes shortcomings without it giving off the appearance of undermining him. A good leader, in this case the Head Coach, would never make an stupid decision like this and expect it to work. I guess that's the hiring hungry thing. A good leader would not allow any type of BS narrative to get out blaming these position coaches and should have the integrity and character to stand out front and admit the mistake. One of the major tenets I learned in leardship from the military is " Success has a million father's, failure is an orphan. "

As far as Al Golden
Will he even leave for the Clemson job?
I know we can pay more than what he’s getting right now there, but so can Notre Dame. They can incentivize him to stay, especially after this season.
I mean, I don’t even know how he could think about any jobs right now.

Leonhard has supposedly interviewed for NFL DC positions, why would he come back to college. Also, Vance is rumored to be interviewing for head coaching positions, meaning Leonhard would be a prime candidate to take over as DC for the broncos.

in the NFL. There are 3-4 DC guys getting HC type $ in the NFL but he wouldn’t be one of those at this stage and not in that market. Lastly once you’re taking about a certain amount of $, there are likely other personal factors - preference on college vs pro, culture, location, family etc that are going to drive any decision.

Hopefully he’d be driven by a passion to coach kids again, and money isn’t the biggest issue.
I have no idea if Leonhard is the guy or not but I did post a gut feeling on him about two weeks ago. It may not mean anything, but it’s interesting Dabo hasn’t named his guy yet while Leonhard is still coaching in the playoffs.

Perhaps but certainly could be other issues. Maybe the top two choices fell through and he had to start over. Perhaps he is waiting to interview a candidate still coaching. Maybe Dabo is in no hurry as he wants to avoid a rushed decision

It would be hard for me to see him leaving PSU after one year, particularly after the year they just had. I know he is a strong christian and very involved with FCA, which might be an appeal with Dabo as our HC, but I just don't think he is going to leave those kids right now. Perhaps if he and Franklin aren't quite gelling there might be a chance but I also would have thought there would have been some smoke there that I haven't seen or heard about in terms of his interest.
My daughter went to PSU and there is nothing on their boards indicating any concerns over him leaving. He seems happy with where he is.

It’s possible but I highly doubt it. Dabo is a guy that could literally sell ice to an eskimo. He’s always been able to land great coaches and players alike. I think he has a guy and is waiting for his season to conclude.
