OSU schedule not that great, really

I don't want to jinx us, but OSU has really not played anyone. Let's take a look at it:
Florida Atlantic - no need to comment. Cincinnati - ditto Indiana - ditto Miami (OH) - ditto Nebraska - ditto MSU - ranked 25th at the time - best team thus far on the schedule, but who would MSU compare to in the ACC this year? Maybe UVA or Va Tech? I think there's a good chance MSU loses to either of those. Northwestern – return to ditto So, 7 games into the season OSU has played no one. Meanwhile through 7 games Clemson has played GT, TX A&M, Syracuse, UNCC, UNC, FSU, Louisville. If you match up Clemson’s opponents vs. OSU’s I think Clemson’s come out winning more. Then the rest of OSU’s games are:
Maryland – horrible (Miami, Duke beat Maryland) Rutgers – do they still play football? PSU – okay this is worth a look. But if you watched PSU vs. Pitt, PSU does not look that great. They barely beat Pitt, barely beat Iowa and Michigan (who should have lost to a terrible Army team), lost to the gophers and struggled against Indiana. PSU is not near a top 10 team. Michigan – OSU played pretty well here in their rivalry game. Scored a lot on an outmanned Blue club. Wisconsin – not exactly a dominating performance. Who is Wisconsin? They beat UM (of questionable quality), squeaked by Iowa, and lost to Illinois. Does Wisconsin beat UVA, Va Tech? Maybe they do, maybe they don’t.
Clearly Clemson will be far beyond any team OSU has played. If we play Dabo ball, seems like we should win.

Stop with the schedule thing. They played a tougher schedule than we did.
It ain't gonna mean a thing come Saturday night. Only Clemson can beat Clemson.

Even if we win by 35, tOSU will have played a better pre-CFP schedule. Schedule perception won't change.
FAU, Cincinnati would probably each win the Coastal (yes, better than UVA) and Miami (OH) is the same as any of the myriad of 6-6 faceless teams in the ACC.
The perception that will change after Dec 28 is that tOSU's slightly more difficult schedule somehow made them 'battle tested'.

played in the regular season.
If UVA played all 3 on a neutral field, thinking the BIG teams win at least 2 of 3. Maybe all 3.

You are giving Iowa too much credit. But yes PSU or WISC would have been our opponent in the ACCCG. But hey WISC was OSU’s opponent.
As stated, it does not matter. This is going to be about execution and game planning. Really a come down to 2 to 3 plays game.
If we can limit Young and Dobbins we win, if not it will be an uphill battle.

I think we'll win, but OSU has accomplished quite a bit this season IMO.

Not saying our schedule was overall more difficult. I’m saying if we look at OSU’s, it seems over rated.

It doesn't matter anymore . That whole " who you play makes you better prepared for the bowl " diatribe is way overblown and probably has little to no actual effect , good or bad .
Clemson plays Clemson . When Dabo and our players say that it isn't " football-speak " , they believe it , practice it and perform against it each time out there on a football field regardless of the opponent's scope . OSU is up against a really strong Clemson Tigers team . The Buckeyes are the best team we'll have met so far this year. That stuff only matters until the kicker puts his foot into it . That is all .

Their schedule is only tougher because we played teams like SU and BC that got blown out by pathetic Maryland and Kansas teams, respectively. Their toughest opponents would get boat-raced by CLEMSON too, so it does not really matter. OSU is going to meet reality on Saturday, and Chase Young will lose millions in the draft for his average performance against real competition, just because he had to play CLEMSON. And the Heisman pickers will see how really stupid they are for inviting someone like Fields and not a CLEMSON player - AGAIN!

TAMU - bowl team UNC - bowl team Charlotte - bowl team FSU - bowl team Louisville - bowl team BC - bowl team Wake Forest - bowl team UVa - bowl team
What's your point? Our ACC opponents didn't get to feast on the dregs of the FBS Rutgers, Maryland and Northwestern?
In addition to those bottom-feeders, Purdue, Nebraska, and Indiana didn't beat a single team with a record over .500, with Indiana getting to bowl eligibility on the backs of those weaklings and a cupcake OOC schedule.
