Too bad Clements bought a house on Lake Keowee and is going to live on the lake. I heard that he is only going to use the President's house on campus for official functions. I thought the whole point was to supplement his salary with free housing and to give the students the opportunity to interact with a President who resides on campus. Dr. RC Edwards, arguably the best President Clemson has ever had, loved that house so much he had an exact replica built downtown Clemson after he retired and continued to live there until his passing.

It doesn't get any better than Dr. Edwards. I personally approached him about helping my wife get a job at the University. He asked me her name, and told me to have her come in to see him the next day. When she got there, Dr. Edwards already had given his secretary a heads up that my wife was to come in, and when my wife went in, the secretary made a call to the Mr. Berry, the Registrar who already had been called by Dr. Edwards. My wife went over, was hired on the spot, and started work the next day. Nothing but kudos for him, and Reggie Berry was a first class guy as well. A great start to a marriage that now is in its 42nd year.

Thanks for the kind words about my dad. He would have loved the Orange door, but my mom, who designed the house, and was a HUGE Tiger fan, would have most likely refused to put an ORANGE door on a Georgian colonial house. She would have painted her car Orange!!

You were blessed with a wonderful man as a Father. When I was playing he would come down each day and he and Coach Howard would "jog". Your dad lost a lot of weight and he worked pretty hard to keep it off and to stay fit. He was a great example, and I know he will sorely missed. God bless you and your family.

The Clements bought a house because they have been living in the Clemson House since January, which was pretty trying with a child and pets. They will live in the President's home when renovations are completed, supposedly by end of August. The Barkers also had a house on the lake but lived in the President's home.

unnecessary. Our new President doesn't have to do little things like this to get school spirit going at Clemson. We've got plenty of it...we've got plenty of orange on campus.
No biggie...just not the way I would have gone.
