Only One Reason to Support Bakich

Over the last few days, we have seen a variety of Clemson fan reactions to the Bakich hire – ranging from extreme excitement to cautious uncertainty. Some Clemson believe Bakich to be a grand slam home run hire. Other Clemson fans seem unsure. Perhaps there are many Clemson fans who are somewhere in between.
Despite our differences, however, there are two things on which all Clemson fans can agree. We all want to see our beloved Clemson sports team, including baseball:
(1) Compete at the highest level (including winning championships) and
(2) Represent Clemson in the right way.
Those two common desires are the very reasons we each feel the need to evaluate our new hire. In a real sense, our common objectives had led us to where we are at the moment – holding differing opinions on something we each view as highly important.
The beauty is that those same common objectives are also what will bring us back together. Those who believe he will lead Clemson to championships hope they are proven right. Those who question if he can lead Clemson to championships hope their concerns are proven unfounded. We disagree because we care so much. But we also come together to support the coach and program for the same reasons.
Whether you are a pumper, a dumper, a realist, an alarmist, a screamer, or a dreamer, we ALL hope for great things from Bakich and the Clemson program. As Clemson fans, we all want to see Coach Bakich lead our Tigers to incredible success.
Why? Because he is our coach now. Clemson’s coach. No other reason needed.

You are right, there is only 1 reason to support Coach Bakich and it is the same as any other coach, he is our coach. Nothing else matters if you are a fan.

If a fan is skeptical of the hire it does not mean said fan does not support the hire or want anything other than success. So many fans on Tnet seem to think if you question a coach or decision by the AD that you dont want the team/coach to be successful. It is actually healthy to question things and also makes for a more interesting message board.

Just because someone is skeptical doesn't mean they don't want success. What a sissy society that thinks because someone doesn't totally agree, they are the "other side" . And yes we grew a bunch of sissies in this world today. As for the hire, I'm hoping since he got Michigan to the CWS, he can do that and even better, here at Clemson.
