Only Clemson coach to win at Chapel Hill YES SIR

It's amazing how people forget that the ACC is the best basketball conference in all of the United States and beyond. Granted this year is not to the ACC standard and it might not make it to that level since some of the most legendary coach is on his way out. (happy to see him leave!)
Now as far as Brad goes yes he makes some late game mistakes no doubt and last week was another one. What you are all over looking is the most important points at hand. The ACC is about to see a MAJOR change and its in full swing. There is a changing of the guard and the former Kings will no longer have the game that they once did.
There is room for new coaching leaders, not going to be legendary but they will be new and not from the normal schools of NC and Duke. Changing of the guard means the refs and there calls that seem to always favor Duke and NC will stop or at the least get cut down a boat load.
With all of this it would be wise for Clemson to stick with Brad for multiple reasons that I would think wouldn't need to be listed but since the majority on this board choses to hate on Brad and the basketball team I guess you might need to see it sense the negative clouds the truth just like in politics HA.
Recruiting: He has a big advantage with time he has as head coach. It's time for Brad to be aggressive towards the 4 and 5 stars and stop feeling the 3's out that is for the UNCW's and so on.
Coaching: Yes the late game mistakes I get it but those tend to fade especially when the refs end up calling a straight game. This can all change with more wins in the state of North Carolina. This can also change if Brad stops wearing those ugly suits.
Ethics: You have a man who is solid with ethics, can't say the same about Dean or Mike or even Rick Barnes. Those guys lack the ethics but act like they are the ones who invented them.
IT is going to take a coach who knows the ACC and has solid years with an organization. Now if Brad underachieves again next year then he will have blown a golden opportunity to rise against the cream. It won't need to be winning the division but it will be a 1-4 seed and making it to the final 8 to really accept a new future and build the foundation. It doesn't have to happen next year but what does have to happen next year is a trip to March Madness. The ACC is up for grabs starting next year

Unfortunately Brad has too much of this Navin Johnson in him...
when what we need to see is this version...
I don't know how you fix that.

I like Judge Keller. I like Coach Brad Brownell. I just don't think Brad should be our coach moving forward.

I'm in the same boat. I would've been fine to keep him another year if we were a bubble team. We are seeing an implosion. One of the worst seasons we've had under brownell. I don't see another reason to keep him at this point.

Its just the inconsistency as a whole...

it happens every year and all of the other factors (late game coaching, recruiting, random losses and great wins) have been constant. barring some drastic shift in philosophy and resources, we are what we are with Brad and its not changing.
I'll add that the ACC has not been the best basketball conference continually for quite some time. We are usually at the top but the middle is always up for grabs. They play pretty good basketball in the Big 12 and Big Ten. Most years those are better conferences and I'd add the Big East and SEC aren't far behind. Since the SEC hired Mike Tranghese to overhaul basketball for the conference, their quality of play and teams have gone up substantially.

Brownlee has coached Clemson to more victories in Chapel Hill than all previous coaches in the entire history of Clemson basketball combined.

Brad’s record
Feb 11, 2022, 2:30 PM
|
|
After this year, he will have made the dance 3 out of 12 years. He’ll have finished 7th or lower in the acc 8 of 12 years. His first year was one of his best. That was with a Purnell roster. He’s got a real shot at last place in the acc this year.
Sure mbb has stability and there could be a rocky road after firing brad this year (feels like it’s coming this time), but the record above is pretty bad. Not like there’s a ton to lose and at least there would be some sense of hope
