Public school problems

Public education has been a target of the left for decades, and they are successfully ruining it. The damage is done mainly through lefty social engineering and the lefty principle of no individual responsibility is needed, which devolves into lack of discipline and kids running the show at the schools because they are untouchable. Another root cause: continued dem support to keep blacks dependent on gubment, with too many lacking family and fathers. This also leads to discipline issues and involvement in drugs and crime. Then of course the left is telling all blacks that will listen, which is about 90% of them, that all their problems are due to white people.
As a result millions are leaving the public education system, and these are not the kids you want leaving if you are a public school proponent. It's not just the pandemic, either.
All my kids went to public schools K-12 and I saw the same trends evolving over the more than two decades of dealing with the public education system. The same trends are continuing/worsening.
A current and horrible example - Adriana Kuch was physically attacked (aka 'jumped') by a black girl in the school hallway. The taunting from the attackers and others resulted in Adriana killing herself 3 days later. Take a look some of the articles below. The school systems like to make it look like they have things under control, but they don't really.

It takes a weak person to refuse to acknowledge the violence problem in public schools and the consequence to those public schools of the flight of the top-end students / families of top-end students to either private schools or to locations in which safer public schools can be found.
Virtue signaling white people who refuse to acknowledge this problem display their closet bigotry by being too chicken to speak up about this ‘black kid violence’ problem.
The net result is the decline in quality of those black-violence plagued public schools, followed by inferior educations for those unfortunate students who remain in those violent schools.
Too cowardly to work towards ending the black-student violence problem, the virtue signaling white closet bigot does not really care whether or not those good black kids who stay stuck in the bad public schools are the (little cared for) victims. But to the closet bigot white person, the perpetuation of how their inaction actually hurts more black kids than it helps is worth it … virtue signaling to their closet-bigot white friends is all that matters.

By getting rid of the liberals who had forcibly moved blacks away from their own homes (under the guise of public health / building codes) and put those same blacks in highly subsidized public housing.
By doing this, the closet bigot white liberals deprived those multitude of black families of the long term financial benefit of property ownership.
Get rid of destructively stupid liberal policies, and start the cycle of blacks acquiring housing that they can afford to make the payments … even when economic times are tough. This action will reverse the trend by which so many blacks end up in the ghettos.

The foundations of wealth for many black families was destroyed when white liberals built public housing for blacks, used eminent domain and housing / building code standards to force black families out of their homes, and ‘invited’ black families who no longer had legally inhabitable dwellings into that public housing.
The single biggest wealth builders for Americans of lower-middle class and higher was taken from many blacks.
Thus, generations of future black families were denied access to the ‘generational wealth’ vehicle which non-blacks have enjoyed for generations.
BTW, these are the views of famous black hater economist Thomas Sowell. Ever heard of him?

Ms. Lightfoot dared to speak the politically incorrect obvious facts. Enabling bad behavior simply brings about more such behavior. Chicago’s black residents of those violent neighborhoods are the true victims.

I attended public schools where, as a white guy, I most often in the minority. Race is not the boogeyman you make it out and, by focusing on these weird, one-off instances of black on white crime you mask the real problems with many public schools.
As I see it, one of the biggest problems with public schools is the focus on social engineering so-called socio-economic balancing they attempt to foist on school children

You have no sympathy for the people of any race that get beat up (or worse) by violent people of any race. To those who were unfortunate enough to get hurt, that (in your view) was their problem. Your ‘virtue’ … as opposed to random luck … is what ‘saved’ you.
The fact that these violent students are, based on the ratio of violence as a proportion of their numbers in the overall student population, black is an inconvenient truth for the closet bigot white people who profess to be on the side of the blacks.
Heck, even Lori Lightfoot admitted (shortly after leaving her job as Chicago mayor) that the enabling policing and lenient prosecutorial practices which are popular among people who have no connection to the black community (note that Lori Lightfoot uses the phrase ‘the blacks’ without hesitation) have failed spectacularly for the black community.
Feeling ‘above it all’ because neither you nor anyone close to you got your tail beaten decades ago when you were in the public school system does not put you in any position of knowledge about how the public school violence of today is working.
Virtue signaling is your objective; you’re not fooling anyone.

Here's another just posted to FoxNews - students attack an asst principal. Who knows who the perps are and why they did it, but students put a school official in the hospital. Chit ain't right! And this article says the same thing the others do (see bolded part below)...
“This morning, an altercation occurred between multiple students at Westfield High School 9th Grade Center, resulting in a precautionary hold. School administrators and police officers were able to intervene and stop the fighting quickly, and identify students involved for discipline. As a result of the incident, a staff member was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. All students involved in the altercation will be subject to the full extent of disciplinary action available. We take these issues very seriously as the safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. There will be no tolerance for any altercations or disruptions to learning.”
The teacher who spoke with KPRC 2 says that statement simply isn’t true.
“When you call for help to the front office, nobody ever shows up,” she said, adding the entire campus only has two officers. “We don’t feel safe. Faculty don’t feel safe… if the parents knew how unsafe the inside of the school is, they would be upset.”
