One piece of rebar and some caulk? Are you kidding me !

That appears to be all that held the rock and it's base in place. That's just pi$$ poor planning folks ! Someone with some intelligence needs to be in charge of securing our most prized possession !
Next time, if nothing changes, the whole d@mn thing will be gone !

Yea, this is just an absolute FAIL. After what happened before, there are no excuses. Someone just needs to be fired.

I think the case did its job. It kept the rock from being damaged. My understanding is that they have cameras directly on the rock so hopefully they have video of the suspects. It would be highly unlikely that a person could remove a piece of solid granite and carry it to a vehicle in the road through the gates without a piece of equipment. Chances of someone removing the whole thing are slim to none. I would think that the gates were closed but if not it needs to be evaluated. If a thief is smart and prepared you cannot completely secure it in an open stadium like it is. If it continues to be an issue they will need to remove the rock to a closed building with security when a game or other function is not going on.

I always love blurry security camera footage. They can read a license plate from outer space but any security footage is so bad you can't see squat. Why is that

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-74tiger.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Because they don't want to spend $2k on a real security

camera and only spend $200.

The space thing is $millions
