"Beamer said there were a few technical issues that made it difficult for the Gamecocks to perform Saturday, including that the chain crew wasn’t on the field after halftime and during an onside kick attempt — “We’ve got to wait on the chain crew because they’re eating a hot dog,” Beamer said. He added there were clock issues throughout the game that made it difficult to work plays and rotations."

Good grief they recovered the onside kick. If anything the chain crew made everybody focus on them rather than maintain focus on the kick. I thought it made the kick even more effective during the distraction.

OMGoodness. Son of Beamer was scraping the bottom of the barrel for these excuses. The only ones he missed were his blaming the idiotic fanbase for prematurely waving the white flags of surrender before the game even began, and the Railroad Engineer who forgot and left all the Cabooses at the end of the stadium. Everyone knows that Cabooses finish last every time, just like the football team. Not your fault, SOB, not your fault!

They recovered the onside kick. What's he bitching about. Don't blame him though. Losing like that to the to a basketball schools is stressful on a SEC head coach.

At the time I actually commented on how smart the onside kick was. I honestly thought he seized the moment and took advantage of the distraction. I guess he’s not really that smart. Lol.

As I recall, the chain crew taking time to fully savor their hotdogs did nothing at all to prevent the onside kick from being successful.
