Offensive Predictions

These were Clemson’s numbers in major offensive categories last year:
Scoring - 33.2 (30 of 131) Total - 410.3 (48 of 131) Passing - 232.4 (66 of 131) Rushing - 177.9 (47 of 131)
What is your realistic expectation of how the numbers improve (I think we almost all agree they will, but by how much?)

Over 500 yards, but 3 TD's?

I like your numbers, but I'd say 5 TD's and one will be defensive.

If that happens we might well win a national championship. I’m a little more in the “cautiously optimistic” camp. I think we’re still a run-first group that’ll score in the upper 30s. Not top-10 level, but in the top-25. Great not elite, although I hope they exceed my expectations!

If you give me top 15 in all 4 categories this season i'll be estatic. If we hit 40+ avg scoring this season we make the playoff.
Realistically I think scoring, total, and rushing jump to top 20. I still need to see more from the WR's to see that passing # go up.

The area I’m concerned about most on the whole team is the receivers. Not just from a catching and making separation standpoint, but from a blocking one as well. Klubnik talked about taking the short, quick screen plays to bring the safeties up into the box. Those don’t work if the receivers can’t block, and as a consequence, the big plays aren’t there

Do you listen to Walt or something? WR's getting separation was never the issue he makes it out to be. Take some time and review games from last season and focus on the receivers. You will see wide open receivers either not being looked at or DJ holding on to the ball too long and throwing over their heads, into the ground or right at the defender.
If any excuse can be put at the WR's feet, it would be inexperience due to injury. Guys playing in positions not normally played due to the starter being out etc.
The biggest problems Clemson had last year was an inept QB and a OC that couldn't make appropriate in game adjustments.

I think top 20 in all categories is very reasonable, my bet is top 15.

1) 2022 TCU averaged 47 pts per game (incl. 51 vs MICH) until they played UGA and scored 7 (knocking avg down to 39 ppg). 2) Max Duggan won the Davey O'Brien award as top QB (after starting as TCU QB2). 3) TCU averaged 455 yds per game (incl. beatdown from UGA). Clemson averaged 410 ypg.
My 2023 forecasts are 471 ypg (around 15th in country up from 48th) and 39 ppg during regular season with an even pass/run distribution, and Cade passing for 3500 yds and running for close to 400 yds.
