I was looking at the depth chart just now and realized that we lose 4 of our top offensive linemen after this year. You would have to think that we will sign at least a couple from the transfer portal. At least I'm hoping that is the case. I'm sure we have some good ones to step up and fill those spots, but OL is a position where it is critical that you have some experience. Anybody heard anything about us pursuing OL's from the portal?

well you would think that's a possibility. Also though our OL recruiting has been much better under Coach Luke so maybe next year there will be some from there. The position group seems to be one where you have a number of injuries yet we dont have a huge number of backups.

O linemen aren't something you can get very well in the portal. What I mean is you can't go money whip an o lineman from ohio state or georgia. You have to either get them out of high school and develop them - which dabo is the master at - or find that nugget who is a late bloomer at a FCS school.

I'm not sure where you got that information. It may be true, but I don't see linemen any differently from other position groups. We have certainly had linemen leave ..... one to Georgia Tech.

Im hoping they find a few in the portal. A bunch of new inexperienced starters is scary to think about especially if they couldn't beat out the current starters.

Coach Luke is bringing in good talent, but it takes time to develop them. Time is what we don't have. I hope he's able to identify and recruit several transfer OL who can be "plug and play" to get us through the 26 season.

Even if our young guys are good in 2026, we’re going to need depth.

You can get good OL from portal. They don’t have to be from Ohio State or Georgia. They can be from Middle Tennessee state.
