One of my coworkers from VT told me they are hearing noise about Notre Dame coming to the ACC. Anyone think this has legs?

Former Notre Dame Athletic Director now holds the same position at Duke. I would like to see ND in the conference, but we'll see what happens.

ND and PSU to ACC. ND uses NBC clout to void ACC TV deal with ESPN. NBCSportsNetwork announces new ACC TV contract paying ACC schools $70MM/yr. ESPN cries.
A guy can dream. The problem (well, one of the problems) with this fantasy is that I just could not see any TV deal making big payouts to a Wake or a Duke, despite basketball. Football == $$$
Back to reality...

the league stay at 8 conference games anyway, which would give ND the opportunity to play its OOC regulars USC, Purdue and Navy, and rotate Michigan / MSU, or some combination like that. We'd play 7 games in a southern division and just one game annually against the north, outside of the ACCCG of course. This would leave us and other league schools more chances for bigger OOC games ourselves and not seem so helter skelter in our league games.

B1G. Even though the league that Joe Pa dreamed about 25 years ago is now at their fingertips, and in a position of great leverage, the odds are with the status quo on that one.
Navy could be a great replacement, putting a Wake Forest in the north and tying in the service academies to our league and broadcasts. That takes care of one of ND's games and adds a natural team and element to the league's makeup. It'd be cool to host Navy once every 16 years - better than our current pace.
