If Clowney signed w/ CU would we've been in the BCS champ?

I think we would have definitely have beaten SC if you take Clowney off their team. Clowney could have made the difference for a team that was struggling on defense at FSU too.
My opinion is Clemson is a couple difference makers on defense from being really, really good.

Clowney would be the best defensive player on ANY team

So thats not exactly a valid comparision. Almost every team is a couple of Clowneys away from a BCS game. Duke's D would be elite with him. He's a physical freak.
If you are saying the Clemson is 1 or 2 normal top level recruits from being very good, I agree with you.

Nah! If they had say....4 or 5 more Clowney type athletes they could "possibly" win the SEC east within 2 or 3 years.

We probably would've been in it by virtue of being undefeated, and if we'd played Notre Dame I can't help but think we would've beaten them, but not by as much as Alabama did.
Clemson's very close to having a magical season. All we need is improved play on the lines and in the secondary, and the good luck to not have any major injuries at positions where we're thin.

Yes, we probably would have, but he apparently wanted to live in the Crotch of the earth, SC and wear a 5th place ring.

I don't know if Clemson would have made the NC game with Clowney. ESPN seems to have a pretty hard bias against the ACC as a whole. Even FSU wasn't given any respect this year. The $ec had 4 teams with 2 losses ahead of both us and FSU so I don't think that one person would change the minds of the powers that be. I do think that Clemson is 2 or 3 players away on defense from being dominant (like the 80's). Let's go Dabo! Go Tigers!!!

FSU lost to a mediocre NCST team and got beat badly by UF. They got the respect they deserved.

what a Clowney would have overcome.
Fools gold to pretend that the difference is one little player...many tried that last year, predicting the end of SC because they lost Melvin Ingram\Jeffries.
It has been 4 years since Clemson scored more than two TDs against SC in a game. And the first you will hear of it, but with the only a shell of the offense returning for 2013, it is going to take some hel to match that number next season.
There is just a difference between the programs at the moment which goes across many different aeas on both Offese\Defense.

South Carolina needs to learn how to keep their fans in check. They just missed being a repeat offender this last time and can't afford another major violation now until after 2015.

Lol at you referring to a 6'6 grown man as "her." Come face to face with him, not hiding behind a keyboard, and we'll all see who the "her" will be.

So I am not sure if it's that simple. We would probably use him as a decoy.

No one guy will not do it but when you start signing players with his academic qualifications you end up like SC in academic rankings. If you make one exception you get sucked into that hole. Look them up!

It's funny that you said that considering the football team just posted it's highest GPA ever.
Clemson Fall 2011 GPA- 2.49 Spring 2012 GPA- 2.61
SC Fall 2011 GPA- 2.70 Spring 2012 GPA- 2.918
Yeah, he and players like him are really dragging the academics down.

No, because according to Clemson fans you would have had to wait for him to finish prep school because he couldn't get in to Clemson, you guys don't accept "thugs" anyways, and you don't offer the "PEDs" that SC hands out to all of their players.
