The Coaching Staff is a far bigger problem than DJ

It's ok to think he's an issue, but the nepotism on the coaching staff is the primary issue.
Streeter and Goodwin are our main problems.

We have 7 NFL players on our D line that he had no part in recruiting or coaching up till this year.
I think they have under performed vs expectations. Definitely not dominant like they were projected to be.

Yep we got enough talent to be a very good team. Just don’t have the Coaching to utilize it.

That's the thing. You are incorrect about the talent. The lack of a duel threat quarterback and playmakers at receiver is the primary problem.

But the quarterback is a five star, receivers are four and five stars, they are all under performing. That’s because of lousy coaching.

It's the QB...when dj sucked last year it was the line or the wrs...now it is the coaches...they picked dj so it is their fault in the end...should not take Dabo that long to pick out a loser...we had to destroy our whole offense to accommodate djs lack of talent! Too late this to develope a new qb...forget the talking heads at the sec channel...play ball...Davis Allen is a baller!

... But if you’re gonna call a bunch of screens in your quarterback, can’t even make that throw then. Yeah he’s a big issue to.

If Wes can't get our boys ready for a one-dimensional team plus one TE with the players we have, then he can't coach, period.
Our stud LBs and DLs have gotten progressively worse.
Wes might be one of the worst DCs we've had in the last 20 years. He needs to go.
Streeter had his moments, but he's not the answer either; behind him we have really awful recruiters in Grisham and Spiller.
All this falls on the head coach though.

We did well when Dabo was the CEO. Right now, it is not a coordinator issue. Well, it may be on D; however, the offense is all Dabo. He hires to control, and we were winning when he didn't control. Morris and Venables were excellent hires and were in control. The coaches now are hired in a way that makes you question how they could be a coach at a top tier program. It's because Dabo has hired "yes" men. Don't get me wrong; Dabo is a great CEO type coach and he knows a heck of a lot more than me; however, we rode a wave after Morris left that was disguised by generational talent. I will continue to support Clemson as always, but I will never believe otherwise.

You are full of crap!! Please explain how you know Dabo hired "Yes" men. If Dabo os calling all the plays, it's because he isn't trusting the calls but last thing he wants to worry about is calling plays. Your comment makes zero sense. Yes, of course he veto's plays and he suggests others, plus he makes the decision on 4th and whatever. But nothing you said is factual. Please prove me wrong!

Anybody could see we should have went out and hired an nfl caliber OC.
We are running the same old crap. Our defense is an embarrassment to what venables had built. These guys weren’t qualified for these jobs.
I’m cool with what I’ve seen. If we want to hire guys like this we can pay dabo $2 million, cut the assistants and stay in the ACC with our bottom of the barrel payout.

He’s right. He’s hired coaches that he used to coach. They had no coaching experience. Completely unqualified for their jobs. Why? So he could run the program his way with no pushback. So they would do whatever he says. That’s a yes man. That’s also narcissism at its finest and it’s hurting the program. Dabo was the reason we won 2 championships. He’s the reason we are on a downward trajectory. He’s gotta fix this or it’s going to get worse.

points scored, even though they were on the field all night because the offense could not put anything together.
This defense is not as good as many of the great defenses we have had in the past, for sure, but they were good enough to win tonight if we had a decent offense.

It starts with recruiting and player development, then we dive into the scheme failures.
To think we cannot develop players who are supposed to be of better ability after winning 2 National Championships and 6 playoff appearances is an abject failure from the top down.

coaching tree. Just in terms of fundamentals, what are they teaching that allows them to milk so much more out of a 4-win USC team (outside of transfers) or leave OK in such a bad place so fast. I like the OU OC too. So baffled here. Is it just in-game playcalling?

I am not convinced that Dabo is not doing a lot of play calling. Those stupid WR screens have kept showing up through about 4 OCs. I can’t buy that all of them just loved that play this much.

Well guys and girls. We strive to recruit 4s and 5s and then we ask them to run a high school offense Very disturbing that we have to watch this. It’s really painful. Really think Dabo has a coaching staff problem because our current situation is not even average. College football today is a business Let’s see how long the team (coaching) are asked to move on. I see now that Streeter is way over his head in his position

Goodwin has been okay, in my opinion.
Streeter and Grisham have to be gone. But we all know that’s not going to happen. Dabo isn’t what he used to be. He became complacent. That’s why this program has been regressing for 4 years in a row.
