Very concerned about what I saw. I saw a coaching staff, other than Venables, I'll prepared. I saw players on defense, however, still giving up big chunks of yards late in the game. That's not good. Some of this may have been fatigue but I'd say it's more a lack of focus and discipline. Which Leads us to the offense. Wow... Please don't say that's the best offense in college football history. Sry... It wasn't even close. What's really hard to fathom, is how so many seasoned players could look like they took a step back at the same time. Mike Williams looked good but Watson looked like he was very rusty. He miss all sorts of throws early and just seemed off. The entire o just seemed blah. Much of this may have just been the play calling, which was awful. We didn't have good overall distribution. Which is shocking. Maybe it's just first game rust .... Maybe. But we certainly took a step back from last year. Against a team like FSU , we would have lost soundly. I imagine after last night, all the folks picking us to win it all... Well, many of them just changed thier mind to Bama. And who could blame them.
And the missed fg was just another offensive screwup last night. You have to really wonder about this call. The offense was so out of sorts that combined with the 3 point brain fart, it makes you wonder if the spread played a part here. It was just that hard to watch and that strange. Soo many weapons used that badly is concerning. The coaching staff did so well all last year and yet they come out last night and look like it's their first game as signal callers. Huh?
Anyway... I hope it's fixed soon but this really makes me wonder what the heck is going on.
At least we won. But feels like a loss when you consider we the supposed to be ranked number 2.

The offense started off a bit slow last year. Remember Clemson had to hold on at the end for a 20-17 win at Louisville, and that was already the 3rd game of the season. The offense will be rolling by the time of the Georgia Tech game. I'm not too worried about that side of the ball.
I was pretty impressed overall with the defense. That was where most of Clemson's questions were.
