We got lucky here. It should've been a loss.
A 33 yarder has a significantly better chance of being made than a 55 yarder.
I recall that we turned the ball over a bunch of times that day, which put us in this position.

100 % agree.
Even scoring 10 points against lsu. Lsu has big problems on offense. They only scored 10 points against Florida. 2 of the 5 interceptions that Florida made. One was a pick 6, the other a chipshot fg.

His defense was a very large reason Clemson was successful. Our defense SCORED points most games then.

For LSU:
No, because the offense was getting shut down all night.
For GaTech:
Yes, because the defense wouldn't have allowed for sustained drives as much, they would have stopped the run better, and tackling would've been better. The offense would've played at an adequate level scoring just enough points to win.
