No Game on YouTube TV Saturday!

YouTube TV just announced that due to a contract dispute, they won't be carrying any Disney company channels until further notice.
This means ABC, ESPN, ACCN, ESPN2, etc. So our game with Duke Saturday will NOT be on YouTube TV.

Dispute will probably get resolved soon. Cable tv is losing customers due to cord cutting. Streaming has really taken over. Major sports leagues send colleges have to find the most profitable balance between cable and streaming. Disneys political stances have impacted them too. They have struggled with paramount+ too. I believe

to purchase ESPN directly through them via ESPN Unlimited. That's probably the end game for them, so it could be in their best interest here to really play hard ball with YTTV. Either YTTV caves and gives them a lot more money, or people that really want to watch sports will come pick up the ESPN package directly from Disney. Once enough people switch over they will start raising the price there as well. I think it's $30.00/mo right now for the Disney + ESPN + Hulu package.

Disney’s fee was the same as they charge Charter, so it’s up to YouTubeTV to figure it out, they’ve had months. I switched to YoutubeTV for the NFL package. Unsure, but I think I can drop YoutubeTV and still keep the NFL package as a standalone. I will go back to Hulu, not being held hostage.

I just saw the email. That’s insane! You get a one day notice that they’re not going to carry any Disney channels? The only reason I have YouTube TV is to watch college football. Well, I guess that saves me 100 bucks a month. Thanks to the poster below who mentioned the sling daily pass… I did not know that was an option.

I dropped YT tv awhile back and got the ESPN stand-alone app, works good for me because i mostly watch sports.
