Simple "yes" or "no" answer....

If you were the Coach Dabo Swinney, would you bring back Kaleb Chalmers? Seems like Dabo is getting a little hasty with his dismissals.

Based on Dabo's remarks, this was not his first offense.

If you're wanting to know explicitly about bringing him back after dismissing him, then no. Sending a mixed message is worse than being perceived as being too harsh. You can't drop someone then change your mind because that's just going to make it more cloudy for any future offenses by other players.
As for whether or not he should have cut him in the first place, we don't know what went on before this. Dabo just said he's had some prior issues with this kid. We don't know what those are, but it's safe to say that this latest offense showed an escalation of his poor behavior and decision making after those prior problems unlike what happened with Watkins or Cain where that was their first incident. I personally don't think Dabo would make that up just to justify a knee-jerk reaction to cut this kid for something that he's less harshly punished "star" players for in the past.

I said no in the first paragraph. You can't bring him back after cutting him. My point in the second paragraph was that you can't just make a simple yes or no call on whether it was the right decision in the first place because you don't have all the facts.

We ain't Louisville, Ole Miss or Auburn. There is a standard at Clemson that 'drug measuring scales' don't fit into.

If I had a nickel for every time I saw a football player smoke, I'd have $0.73 and Clemson wouldn't be able to beat the Citadel with the team they'd field.

How the heck can you determine Dabo is hasty when you have no clue about the facts or backstory?

with Digital Scales. They're used to measure out the product your selling. Big difference in using and using and selling. Your on a football team....who you trying to sell drugs to?

Bottom line is that Kaleb was dealing drug and doesn't need to be on our team. Get caught just smoking is one thing, but when there is a possibility that you are selling it to others on your team... Thats a wrap.
