I trained my pitcher to reach forward with their glove hand then yank it back to their chest to assist in the rotation of their bodies. I'd imagine if you saw that from the batter perspective you'd see the glove was already at her chest when the bat hit the ball.

I'm not disrespecting the reaction time. That girl is one great player. She did have to turn the glove around 90 degrees but it that is a reflexive defensive action. Note her head moving to her right to dodge the action. Picture perfect pitcher.
