Next time a Gamecock suffers a significant injury must I

Nov 27, 2012, 1:01 AM

continue to pretend to give some sort of special rat's a$$ over and above how I would feel about any other player from any other team?
Any injury is an undesired consequence of the game. Unless a player suffers lifelong changes to his overall health that will dramatically alter his life from that point on, I really don't see flying flags at half staff. It made no sense at the time. And it makes even less now.

I pointed the post but, I think that most of the concern was over the type of kid that Lattimore is. He is nothing like the trash that cheers him on Saturday's. Lattimore's demeanor would have fit more into a Clemson type culture.

If he is a kid who spends the majority of his free time demonstrating what it means to be a role model and a down right good human being, yes, you should.

If he is a thug with a helmet, feel free to care a lot less.

If football is more important than your humanity...well that is a bummer.

That is the dumbest thing I have ever read in my life. "His demeanor would have fit more in a Clemson type culture"? How many times has Lattimore gotten a touchdown and walked down the sidelines (helmet off) bobbing his head like the game was over and then break out the Heisman pose? How about your offense lineman saying "we play against players as good as Clowney everyday" when he is one of 3 finalist (which Clemson didn't play against the other two finalist) for the most prestigous defensive award? I'm sure he would thank DF for fueling his fire! The Clemson demeanor you speak of is some BS you've made up in your head! Both teams have good kids and how successful they will be in life will show that.
