Sorry. A first basemen with 0 Zero O Zero 0 home runs who looks bad at the plate every time. I know we’ve had injuries and played multiple players there including SS.
That said, when opposing first basemen are an actually threat at the plate and Florida’s has 30+ home runs, ours is a let down. They are in the line up to it. Nothing more. We need better at the position.

Crighton is playing out of necessity...No one in the lineup right now is a bigger liability at the plate than Jarrell...That dude has no business with a bat in hands this series...

Agreed. But we should send Crigton to the plate without a bat. Rather see a walk or strikeout than consistent double play ball.

Never when it matters. And it’s college.. first baseman aren’t here for lead off batting average. They are here for a threat. Rather he bat 200 and be a real threat at the plate. 300 is the new 200 in college baseball

That’s an asinine comment and theory. You put a player that can field the position regardless of power numbers. Crighton is about the only 1st baseman without an error all year in all of baseball. He’s also a .307 hitter (better than Ciufo who only hit two HR in 27 games). Makes me wonder what you’ve been watching if at all.

He has a better BA than Purify, Jerrell, Obertop and Bissetta. We don’t need HR’s. We need hits. timely hits with men on base is what’s killing us offensively.

Crighton has hit into some double plays but he's been solid at first. He's the only batter that didn't have a strikeout. Jarrell is a weak link but some is just the stats of baseball. Crighton has had some big hits, just not a hr threat.
But, I'm positive that coach is playing the best we have. Cam came up to bat with some critical situations and came up empty. As a team, we were 0-8 risp. FL was 3-8 ... and we still were in it.
I'm disappointed and frustrated too but we're a good team that had some critical injuries in season. Two huge injuries pre-season with Casey and Samol. And the season isn't over yet.

Every 1st baseman in college baseball is a let down if you compare them to the gators 1st baseman. When Cuifo went down, Clemson had to move Hindi that was playing 1st to SS. Crighton has done an admirable job defensively, and held his own average wise. You guys are jumping off the deep in over 1 bad inning today. Step back, take a deep breath, we have 27 outs to play tomorrow.

Funny a few weeks back people were upset when he did not play. I think he is fine and has played pretty well, obviously not so much yesterday hitting. He plays good defense. Hopefully he gets his bat going again today.

The two plays that hurt were pitching to the three run Homer and not taking the easy out at first instead of the wild trlhriw at home on a tough play. That cost us some runs

Need to squash that noise. He’s hitting .307 with 29 combined RBI and runs scored on the year. Circuitous route by Hindelighter moving too short because of Ciufo (.280 with only 12 RBI over 27 games and 2hr) injury. That’s 27 points higher with more run production. What magical player would you put in his place? Not to mention Chrighton has a 1.000 fielding percentage. Thankful that you aren’t the head coach!
