My surfing the net about Saban replacement.

Background. I love the coaching carousel. I found T-net when Clemson was looking for a coach and hired Tommy Bowden. But, the coaching search is much harder to keep up with now than it was way back then. I still follow it, but mostly for entertainment, not trying to figure out who will get what job.
With that said, I'll cut to the chase and just tell you the highlights of what I've found.
Last night all the usual suspects were being thrown around - Lanning, Sark, Dabo, Kiffin being on everybody's list, usually in their top 5.
Reports were out that Bama players were told they would have a replacement within 72 hours.
Reports were out that Lanning was in Tuscaloosa last night.
Mike Norvell's name was mentioned, but I didn't take it too seriously.
This morning Brett McMurphy reportedly said on Serius XM radio that it was down to two guys - Lanning and Norvell.
Oregon message boards are reporting that Lanning has told his players that he is not going to Bama, he has not been to Tuscaloosa and he will be coaching the Ducks.
Bama message boards are saying, "We don't want Dabo. We don't want Norvell."
All I know for sure is Jimmy Sexton is gonna get 4 or 5 coaches, at least, nice pay raises.

As you said, Sexton is going to make the most money off this.

Thanks for doing some research. I have read reports that Lanning is in Tuscaloosa this morning.

You can't trust anything you see. When Lanning was being mentioned at A&M, he pretty clearly stated that OR was home. I know things change when Bama comes calling. But he's got no real ties to Bama, and has a great gig that's going to be elevated going to the B1G.
I would look for them to do what was successful...try to hire a proven championship caliber coach. Maybe it will work, maybe it won't. But I think they're going to try to do that first. They'd be stupid not to.

How much is Norvell's buyout? Lanning's is 20 mil. Dabo's is only 7.5 mil. Sounds as if Lanning is the most likely first pick if he wants to cough up 20 mil.

head football coach at the University of Alabama?"
He cannot truly be Nick Saban's replacement until he does that. It's kind of obligatory at this point, don't you think?
