There is a three to five hour wait in Augusta. Monoclonal antibodies are pretty much nonexistent. We have a large medical community too. My brother is having trouble getting tested in Greenwood.

There's some secret window for walk-ins at one of the pharmacy chains, 2 to 3 pm I think. From memory at a bar a couple weeks ago, it's either CVS or Rite-Aid and not Walgreens.

with all the people walking around with no symptoms, those symptomatic who had regular tests done and don't quarantine until after getting results, the CDC saying the isolation period should be reduced to 5 days, and the boosters not preventing infection( just decreasing severity)? We all gonna get it so why even worry - get shots and hope for the best.

but you're contagious for a shorter period of time if you're vaccinated, and the people who are unvaccinated are far more likely to end up in the hospital or worse.

In that you have a much smaller chance of moderate, severe, or life threatening illness from the virus than if you have not received the vaccine. You are the one who stated unvaccinated people are decreasing the effectiveness of vaccines, noone else on this thread. To end the vaccine argument and get back to normalcy both sides need to put down the swords and move on, please lower your weapon TS.
I respect your decision to put yourself at a higher risk of death in the same way I respect peoples decision to not wear their seat belts, not wear helmets on bicycle, eat fast food too often, drink to much soda, and smoke. Have a great and happy day. Go tigers!

Not trying to be a jerk…but what does it matter? I mean say you get a test. You test positive. Well time to quarantine to protect others and prevent the spread.
Now say you test negative…but your still sick(why else would you be testing) your still gonna “quarantine”, stay away from others and rest until you get better right?
So what does testing really do for you? There’s not a cure.

I got it after getting vaccinated- the level of misinformation, information suppression and reckless disregard for consequences of policies that have no purpose is frightening.
Let’s blame the unvaxed! It’s their fault! Get vexed and don’t worry! If we would just all get faxed it will all be gone!
This thing will only go away when we all decide to say enough. We’ve been deceived about many things, stop letting it divide us and replace the fear with anger. It felt like a shorter version of the flu mainly congestion and cough. Aches & fever lasted 2 days. Today, (day 4) I feel almost back to normal.
I hope all affected have “mildness” that I experienced. I am 56, 20lbs overweight and non-vaxxed. Keep the faith.

I got sick before Christmas and home tested twice and was negative. Thought I had a typical winter cold with a little snot, soar throat and little cough phlegm. Never had a fever. Several people in the family got sick with same symptoms, and when I say several, I mean like 10ppl, they couldn't find home tests so several went for blood tests and 100% everyone was positive covid. All of us were vaxxed and several were boosted and we all caught the crud. The only one that has had a battle and fever is my 40yr old female cousin that is unvaxxed. She is on about 15 days of being sick now. Mine was 3 days feeling crappy and couple days before and after of being tired. All the vaxxed family have had mild cold symptoms for around a week.
I can tell you this, the night sweats and scratchy throat was the key symptoms for everyone that tested positive. Only 2 out of 10 had fevers and nobody had the loss of taste or smell symptoms of the original Covid.

My son and I infected the entire family at Christmas after testing negative and assuming a cold. Some tested positive, some negative as well. We all have the same symptoms. I never tested positive, my wife did. We both had the same symptoms. A cold.
There's science to back up a throat swab. Saliva tests are also more accurate over nasal swabs. Omicron infects different cells. And it infects cells using a different mechanism. It's essentially a different virus, not just in severity, but mechanically, and structurally.

Getting back to the original question, you can get next day results from the pharmacy drive thru tests but they are currently scheduling about 3 days out. Walgreens now has testing at many upstate locations which I think is fairly new. To get the rapid (15 minute test) you need to go to CVS minute clinic or some other test site. If you are online before 9 am you may be able to schedule a same day appt. Good luck.
