Move the rock to the bottom of the hill

Sep 11, 2024, 11:57 AM

Let the team fill the hill from top to bottom hyping up the crowd until canon fires. Then because there already a big group right at the bottom a lot of players can run out at once. Perhaps bring some excitement back.

Just an idea.

The whole point is to run down the hill. With players already at the bottom that defeats the purpose

As big as the team is 3/4 would still be running down the hill. Just not from street level.

Yea. That’s the ticket

Put rock on a trailor and set at midfield

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not the worst idea for Clemson football this year

5

Sep 11, 2024, 12:18 PM

But only because someone had the idea that Bryant Wesco should only play 10 snaps against Jawja.

Aside from that one, yours is the worst idea

Re: Insert an AI generated video of all the football players slamming into the rock

Sep 11, 2024, 12:42 PM

Do they run over each other at the top of the hill? No they don’t, they wait until the player in front of them has moved. Look nobody can see the team on the street. If they are all on the hill hyping up the crowd it might be a little quicker and more exciting than the 4 or 5 players skipping down now.

Lol, back in the day (when i was in school there) the players would rub the rock at the top of the hill and then start moving down to about the half way point of the hill and wait for the cannon to sound before running. I honestly think it was more exciting than the single file line that happens now.

Sep 11, 2024, 1:38 PM

Somber than usual.

Trent Pearman and Rob Billings the two number 14’s (Overton’s old number) run down first and the the team followed. It made for a more somber entrance than usual. Personally, I’m in Section K right next to the hill and it made me not want to yell and clap like I usually do out of reverence to Overton in the situation.

I suspect we will be full throat vs NC state.

Bad idea. I would like to see the team run down the hill together like they did back in the day. Way less skipping and hopping. Just run down the hill in a tight cohesive pack looking to open a can on the opposing team. It was way more intimidating back in those days.

Re: Move the rock to the bottom of the hill

I’m an old guy and have watched this great tradition since the 70’s. It does seem to me that today players are a little more methodical and careful about coming down the hill than they were back in the day. Like lots of fans I’ve trotted down the hill myself a few times ( when I was younger ) just to try to get a feel for it and it isn’t exactly a walk in the park. Your legs and knees need to be in good shape in order to keep from getting out over your skis, especially when you hit that plateau.

Maybe the only useful suggestion I could make might be to change the plateau slightly or possibly the overall grade of the hill slightly. Perhaps just enough to mitigate the risk of injury but not enough that it would be visibly noticeable. I remember the days when our team went charging down the hill with what appeared to be reckless abandon. I don’t know if the hill was actually different then or if our players just threw caution to the wind.

People who suffer from some forms of OCD have what the doctors call "a flight of ideas" that stream through their thought process and make decision making in every day life almost impossible. These people should be permanently banned from TNET. That is all.
