"Sadly" the optimistic are the silent majority these days on Tnet. They don't want to be slammed by the idiots here.
I needed 20 TUs and poasted a couple optimistic threads -> more than a hundred TUs quickly arrived.

Why did you need 20 TU's?

You are correct, sir, not happy with this year but we will make changes. I trust the Coach and AD to have Clemson’s best interests top of mind.
I am sure there will be personnel changes and transfers too.

I helped my mom fill in S&H green stamp books. I think we got a toaster.

As a kid my family got those at Winn Dixie. The glue tasted awful, but the rewards were real.

I remember those, quite well. I remember all of the kids, pasting those things in the books. I don't remember what mom got with all of them, but it was like Christmas, when she packed those books up, and went to get them redeemed. I'm sure I was counted in those TUs Tug.

Complete opposite. You are the loud minority.
All the CU fans I talk to that aren’t on here feel like most do. The game has passed Dabo by.
Go ahead and name a HC that had teams fall off like Dabo and also brought them back to prominence. You can’t. Now Dabo has earned the right to try to fix it but it won’t happen. You can’t come back in a few years and admit yall were wrong.

I agree most all in fans are staying away from posting on Tigernet! Most of the writers on tigernet are also very negative

I dont see any reason to be optimistic about our football program.

We have been on a five year decline.
This is likely to be our worst season in nearly 30 years, made even worse since we were considered a national championship contender when the season started with a Heisman candidate and multiple first round draft picks.
Our recruiting is slipping.
We don’t take full advantage of NIL when it comes to recruiting high school players.
We have not shown a willingness to aggressively use the transfer portal to obtain immediate help.
We have coaches who are unqualified for their positions who have been allowed to maintain their positions of authority and influence.
Dabo has said nothing about major changes to his staff or to his approach to recruiting. Now, he could be planning major changes. But if he does make them, the likelihood that they will be the right changes AND that they will result in short-term improvements is low.
We are looking at a several year rebuild, even if Dabo is willing and able to do what is needed.
Any predictions that he knows how to fix this are based on hope, not proof.
We all hope he can figure it out, but optimism at this point is unfounded.

Agree. I'm not sure why some posters think everyone wants Dabo fired. I've only seen a couple of posts by users that either just joined or haven't posted lately that say we need to move on from Dabo. Nearly every discussion I read say Dabo's done great things and has earned the right to fix it.
Why is a post giving your opinion on the actions that need to occur perceived as negative.
We'll see what happens after the season.

I started attending Clemson FB games in 1958 at the tender teen age of 15. I enrolled at Clemson in 1961. I have been a die hard Clemson fan, supporter and contributor for 67 years. From The coach from Barlow Bend to the walk on Alabama coach we now have. That Alabama connection has been a great source of coaches for Clemson.
I am not married to any Clemson coach. Clemson will still be here long after any coach. My loyalty is to Clemson. And when a coach is not performing according to the standards we have come to expect and the money we are paying for results, I will, as a fan and supporter, speak up and be critical of the coach. I don't want Dabo fired unless he is not willing or is unable to fix this broken program. I don't want the program to continue to be on the path it has been on for several years. How long Dabo is given to fix it, IMHO, depends on what steps he takes at the end of the season to start the process.
We shall see what he does and what his plans are regarding using the porta potty to fill gaps, the coaches he replaces who should never have been hired, the recruiting of players and how he addresses the development of those players and how he intends to hold coaches and players accountable. I think most of the long time fans/supporters will support him going forward if the changes are more than window dressing or putting lipstick on a pig.
We MUST return to dominating the ACC and making the CFP playoffs on a regular basis. I think being in the ACC and being a top 10 program, we should expect to be in the cfp on a consistent basis. We didn't sue the ACC or spend more money than anyone in the ACC on coaches salaries and facilties to be a team that is currently at 3 wins and 5 losses.
