We’re not going Big 12…no way no how…

It’s either going to be the B1G? Or, the SEC…
My bet is on a completely revamped B1G that spans the entire nation and forces the entire major D-1 major football landscape into two national leagues (remnants of the SEC and B1G) subdivided into regional pods in order to a maintain old rivalries.
Clemson will end up going with Miami, UNC, Ga Tech, UVA, FSU and maybe even a couple more or less, but you get the picture.

One day when someone figures out how to to get of the GOR, we may go somewhere else. Having a conference with more than 18 teams is a totally non functional idea and would create a model where twenty or more teams would have no chance to play for a championship. Non starter.

Explain the “no chance” part

Of your narrative. Are you suggesting that only conference champions will be in the playoffs? You could say no chance to win a conference championship, but not even that is correct - they’re in the conference, right? Maybe you mean the current state of affairs where, for example, certain teams in say, the SEC, have no realistic chance. Commodores, wildcats, and chickens come to mind.

Foolish comment of the day. It all depends on the payout. If the B12 can form a super conference with east/west divisions which attract a similar payout as the other two big-dogs then it might work out very well.
I believe the B12 is the only option to get VT, UVA, UL to agree to vote out the GOR

I am not trying to be a d*ck, but yours is actually the foolish comment of the day. The Big 12 is made up of scraps no one wants. There is no way a combination of ACC teams and Big 12 makes anywhere close to SEC or B1G money. The Big 12 was the last to get a tv contract and its $31 million per school. That shows you how much the tv networks value the Big 12.

Just a tip for you: you’re never an “exyankee”. Now take your BIG garbage back up north with you. Clemson isn’t going to play 4 road games in MN, WI, IL an and OH.

I really think the idea of the B1G taking in 6 teams in the south and setting up regional divisions where you only play 2 road games out of your division is a more likely scenario than moving to the SEC or Big 12.

You are correct Calhoun2, no such animal as an ex-Yankee. If they are here on vacation, they are called a Yankee. If they stay they are a ##### Yankee. Then they are a headache for us.

Clemson is a better fit for the B1G than SEC. One of the B1G's requirements for entrance to the conference was a candidate had to be an institution of research, or so it was a while ago. IDK how it is now and frankly, I don't know if Clemson is much of a research school either.
Academically, we belong in the B1G. So what, I'd rather play football in the SEC.

…yes. But the BOT has an obligation to the entire institution. They’d be negligent to only consider the football program, and they won’t. If, when, and how we break free I can’t say, but despite what a lot of fans may prefer, I would think they’ll land on B1G when that time comes.
Personally, if that happens I’ll just suck it up and brave the cold when necessary. Go Tigers!

I love following this stuff. Since ADs have made it virtually impossible to get a good handle on coaching searches, conference realignment is my favorite little off season hobby.
And, it is almost as hard to separate "information" from "wild guesses." Which of these guys have sources and which are just click bait? How many of these guys just see what somebody else has posted on youtube and then run and quickly post a rehash of the same thing? It's hard to try and figure it out, but it is fun.
I have no idea how it will all fall out, much less when.
But, I am still convinced that within a few years 1-3, the ACC will be dissolved, or at least the football powers will no longer be members, and FSU and Clemson will be in either the SEC or B1G.
Other than that, I'm just guessing.

But, attempting to see this from a position of logic, reason, and business? I think we will be B1G bound…
People have to find a way to take their old school emotional hats off and think differently…
We will NOT be on the road to Minnesota or IU or Purdue every weekend like some of these posters are suggesting. We will have traditional rivalries (at least some) intact. The winners of these “Pods” or “Blocks” will simply advance within the construct of a binary NFL-like system…
