Mike Gundy for OC regardless what Riley does this season

Please
I think it’s time to be done with the slow stuff. We meeed another Offensive guru in here who puts the pedal to the medal like Chad Morris did
I think this job is the absolute perfect place and fit for Gundy. Clemson, especially in the situation it is in, is a revival spot for Gundy. If he doesn’t intend on retiring right now.
We see how Malzahn as a proven coach has completely turned FSU’s offense around.

Would we make him run the Clemson offense with all the current staff in place, or would he get to pick his own people and actually make decisions?

Me thinks Mike Gundy wouldn't be a Yes Man and would want people of his choosing on staff.

And therein lies the problem. I don't think Dabo has it in him to just give a coordinator complete autonomy. Well, coach Venables took charge. Let's all hope coach Swinney has an eureka moment soon.

I’m sure they’d figure something out
Gundy’s offense at OKST was pure attack. Risking turnovers and penalties is a given.
Looking at how Riley has for some weird reason used conservatism in his offense

No one can make the “Clemson offense” work. I wasn’t aware there even was such a thing until I watched other teams run their more effective offenses and said to myself, “Self, the Clemson offense sucks”

I think Garrett Riley and company run the Clemson offense to perfection. If we got points for every 3 and out we had, we’d be undefeated.

Wes Goodwin?
You don’t even know if the guy in your profile pic is not going to be the worst hire under Dabo. Sure looks possible.

Being one of the worst implies the possibility of that person being the one worst hire. So, if you say “one of the worst”, there’s a chance it is the worst.
Besides, is being one of the worst much better than being the worst anyways? No
Gundy is a perfect fit. Good enough to try.

Well, it depends on what the terms of his buyout are. He would not want to lose money just to take a job.

After 21 years, what? He had incredible success in between 2005 and 2025. Multiple BCS and NY6 games.National relevance at a consistent level is what you want to see out of any coach. And that’s what he did. Just a worn out chapter in which an ending was expected.
Ok State is kind of an odd ball program anyways. In the territory of Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, basically any of those dominant programs. I don’t know
Hopefully the Clemson job with that amount of money entices him enough. And I think it does.

I'm a big no on Gundy. When was the last time he called plays? Not sure he did or not while hc. I would can Riley and Grisham, bring back Jeff Scott as wr/oc and hire an established qb coach w a good track record.

Scott isn’t coming back. He’s already talked about that. So as of now it doesn’t seem to be a viable option.
Everyone needs to be canned. Riley especially. Add on the fact Riley’s time is up on his contract after this year.
We desperately need a guy who knows what he’s doing. Gundy has shown he can. He coached a lot of the best offenses year in year out at OKST

That's a heck of an idea. I don't think he would come here without his people and full control over the offense, which I'm not sure Dabo would be okay with, but ####, it would be tough to be worse than what we have going this season.

They’d put egos aside for an obvious good thing
I’m encouraged to see Dabo express some humility. I think this furthers my reasoning as to Dabo definitely putting his ego aside in the future if Gundy was open for hire when the time came.
Gundy would be able to bring anybody and do things his way. Because he has been a college football level at the highest level for a long time. And he knows what he’s doing.
Gundy would just want good money. Which is something Clemson is obviously willing to give.
