Or, he gets a real LB coach and DC at the next level and has a solid 8 yr career. He most definitely does not perform to the level of hype he gets.

He is indeed soft and often out of position. What else can you expect though? Just look at who his position coach is.

His position coach for the last 3 years had zero experience as an on the field coach.
It shows in his lack of development. A 5 star that peaked as a sophomore. All because of a terrible “cultural” hire by his head coach. I’d be pissed if I was Carter.

B.Carter is very fast. He is also very agile. Thus, he’s superior in coverage.
This facet of his game is easily overlooked because the opposing QBs don’t try to throw to a covered up TE or RB that’s runn8ng a pass route. B.Carter also plays the zone very very well.
His shortcoming is obvious: He is a poor tackler.
I am pretty sure he’ll play in the NFL. As a special teams player he’ll be valuable. As others have suggested, maybe he’ll get switched to safety.
He’s been a very good player for us, although very disappointing against the run, given the expectations for him as an overall difference maker based on his HS career.
