That's because cares about its basketball program. Declining attendance and apathy were actually noticed and became a concern. At Clemson, that's just par for the course.

I went to see UVa hand them their @$$es back in 2019 and the place was less than half full.
The only way attendance could have declined since that game was for the entire gym to be locked down.
I’m not saying you’re wrong, but it’s not as though Martin’s teams have been selling the place out even without Covid. Perhaps a better statement would be that the Fighting Chickens are hoping to get as much enthusiasm stirred up for the MBB team as for the WBB.

Way to go MoonTiger comment without knowledge. Martin is 171-147 in 10 years and Brownell is 218-166 in 12 years. My math is not great but Brownell has a better record.

It's like 4% better and does seem to have gotten him a lifetime contract. His 4% better win percentage has already bought him 3 more seasons than they were willing to give Martin.

Yea I could careless personally. I still can’t believe Odom left Wake to coach down there. Do not remember the money side of it but I guess that was a deciding factor. Wake was a really solid program while he was there and SC had not done anything in years.
