Many on here are questioning why we have so many bball

players entering the transfer portal. There are expected to be 1500 players in the portal this year, with a total of about 320 D-1 schools. That's an average of 4.7 per school. So, aren't we below that?
I hate to tell you, but it's a new world when it comes to transfers. Almost every school will have them!

Syracuse coming off a strong finish has three going into the portal. You make a good point.

Just the tip of the iceberg. NCAA is handing down a ruling soon. Perhaps next week. I could be off a bit (half listening to a sports radio show) and it's supposed to become official policy that any player, in any college sport can transfer and play for another team immediately.

It'll become commonplace. Hence Dabo is setting up a structure in place to evolve. As he stated, doesn't mean he will but every team will soon have a portal coach if you will.

I hate it and personally think it'll change college sports for the worse but, have to adapt. Why you think Arkansas made the bball run they did this year.

Basketball is changing. You'll see more one offs in the future. Like our run to the sweet 16. You'll see more and more teams get lucky if you will and have a shocking year. Easy to do in basketball, not so much in football or baseball... Because of the larger roster size.

You are assuming that everyone here is logical and reasonable.

All bets are off when dealing with this crowd. It doesn’t matter that we have fewer transfers than most schools this offseason. No, all that matters is that the ones we’ve had are being used as supposed examples of how awful our coach and program are. It’s pathetic. Based on what I’ve read here, if he were a good coach, Brownell wouldn’t lose any transfers, ever.

mediocre basketball history, and our willingness to accept that as our permanent fate (all as evidenced by our celebrating our 5th place, unranked finish this year). I'm not worried about our number of transfers, where average is not a bad thing.
