Is absolutely ridiculous. He should’ve gotten 25 carries, at least. The offense starts with him and that o-line. Keep feeding him. Starting out with those ridiculous passing plays was insane.
How do Dabo and Riley not see it if fans can? We beat a good Notre Dame team by feeding Mafah.
We still would’ve lost the game but I fully believe we would’ve at least scored a td had Mafah gotten 25 carries.

He can’t get that many carries when we aren’t moving the chains. That begins with a better downfield passing game. Georgia isn’t the type of team you’re going to ground and pound

He got stuffed on multiple short yardage situations. Georgia is faster and more physical than Clemson. Running right at them was never gonna work

We only ran 52 offensive plays the entire game. So much for an up tempo offense. But when you go .3 and out several times that’s what you end up with.

He got stuffed on a good bit of those runs. And you can’t keep running the ball when you’re getting your doors blown off.

Why? He was averaging less than 2.5 per carry. You feed a back that averages 3+.

He would have easily got 20-25 carries if we had run more plays but I don’t think any specific amount of carries was going to make a difference in the game.

I don't think many people have grasped what the recent clock rule changes have done to reduce the number of plays in a game. The days of running 100 plays in a regulation game are over. The FSU-GT game last weekend only had 14 total possessions - 7 per team. FSU ran 56 plays and GT ran 52.

I agree that the rules changes have affected the number of plays in a game. But we should be running at least 70 plays a game. You are correct, the days of 100 plays is gone. More like 100 commercials.

This goes back to Tony where if something is working we dont stay with it but start trying a bunch of other junk and stop ourselves. Some running that work and some play action passes mixed in would have helped. It isnt about everybody getting the sdame number of touches and if that is it you got the wrong guy

I was hoping for more running, maybe near a 50% balance, but when your oline can’t pass protect and the QB can’t move within the pocket, you get behind the chains too often…. Looks to me like there was no confidence in passing the ball and the D couldn’t get any pressure on Beck…. More creative blitzes would have been nice, although not sure how effective…. Need some new blood with some confidence in there!

Georgia was stacking the box against us, and rightfully so given the limitations in the passing game. The Clemson offense is so easy to defend right now because it’s played in a ten yard box. Too much horizontal passing, little vertical threats, and Cade’s inability to throw with the anticipation needed to threaten the middle of the field. It’s a bad situation.

Penalties killed us. We were always behind the chains. And when we did have a chance to run, Cade made some boneheaded decisions on the PRO. He tends to rush things.
