Mel Kiper's opinion of Clemson

Heard him on the radio saying there is no way we could beat Bama, that we are second tier. I would jump at the chance to play Bama.

No way we play Bama. They will not win the SEC this year. I say Georgia's offense us almost as good as T A&M and Georgia's Defense is light years ahead of T A&M. depending how Georgia does against LSU is who plays for the SEC Least against Bama. If it's Georgia then Mark Richt keeps his job by winning the SEC and no SEC in the Championship.

Bama doesn't look as strong this year as they were last year, IMO.
Oregon scares me way more than Bama....I bet Bama doesn't beat Tennessee by 45.

like the LSU fans who think that they're still winning titles...the Chicken fans who think that because of their SECitis they're somehow relevant....the Auburn fans who, without being a shady program, would be a second tier SEC team....the real SC fans out here who think that Charles White and OJ are still at Tailback U....the A&M fans who are now SECites with an immature talent at QB that is an embarrassment to their program....the Texas fans who really have a second tier program but think Vince Young still has eligibility....the OSU fans who play in a garbage conference with a coach who'd sell his mama to win.....the Georgia fans who pull for a team that sets NCAA records with off the field issues year after year with a coach who folks think is a classy guy but has the inmates running the asylum waiting at the bottom of the Hill before we kicked their #####....and the Free Shoes fans who yelled for a team who hasn't been able to achieve anywhere NEAR their talent for the last 10 years and is probably the most poorly coached team in the nation with that talent....Kiper's BS sounds just like '81....go ask the Huskers how that worked out for them and their NFL offensive line and their triple all american backfield that slimed off the Orange Bowl turf that night wondering what the hell Jeff Bryant, Fridge, the JUDGE, Danny Tripplett, Perry, Jeff McCall, and Homer just did to them. We'll run the table, beat Bama for the title and everyone will be wondering what the hell just happened. GO TIGERS.

the last 16 being stationed all over the nation/world listening to people talk like we are not a relevant program will do that too you, man.....the folks who think that if you're not SEC or OSU, USC, Texas, or Bama, you're second tier....the same fans who couldn't name you a single O lineman on their team that they follow and would rather tailgate than watch the game...those folks....when you truly follow football, you KNOW that Clemson, Oregon, UCLA, Louisville, etc. are teams you better have your eye on whether they've won a title lately or not....the Chickens, Free Shoes, Georgia, Texas, OSU, and Trojan fans are probably the worst i've run into....throw ND in there too.

I will take a dump on Mel Kipers head and use it as styling gel to fix that bush he calls hair. This coming from a draft expert who misses 90% of the time on his predictions. He is the most worthless expert ESPN has at the moment, other than Dinich.

"KiJana Carter will be the next Bo Jackson." Well, had he said that injuries would ruin his career then perhaps he'd have been close. Huge swing and a miss.
"Ryan Leaf is more mature than Drew Bledsoe, he's very much a grown up 21 year old." Nothing could've been further than the truth here.
"Marcus Vick is going to be picked a lot higher than you think. Maybe as high as a third round pick." Vick was never selected. Strike three Mel.
"Akili Smith will be the Bengals best passer since Boomer." No, no he wasn't.
Jamarcus Russell will be the next Elway?!! Nah, never close.
USC wr Mike Williams will make the NFL Hall of Fame!?! Perhaps as a tour guide or janitor.
Andre Ware will be a great NFL qb? Young folks are saying, "Who?"
In 2001, he picked the Patriots to go 0-16. They won Super Bowl XXXVI. A huge swing and a miss!
How about him picking first rounders correctly.... Well from 2005-2008, Mel was right on 32 of 127 picks. That's a dull 25.2%. Not exactly what you'd expect from a guy who has insider's with every organization. Perhaps they like to punk him, I don't know.
Face it, he's in the spotlight during the draft simply because he was the first self proclaimed draft guru who analyzed the draft on a micro level. But as we all know a nutless monkey throwing darts at a draft board could make better picks. Ron Morris has better insight than him. But I'd still find a monkey more entertaining. And more relevant.

Oregon is the best team in the country right now. Bama should be behind CLEMSON and UGA, and probably 1-2 other teams. They are not that good this year. The ONLY reason they are not ranked lower is that they haven't been beaten yet. The beating is coming though, and they will NOT play in the NC game. Expect UGA to be there possibly if a few undefeated teams slip up.
