Losing a recruit or 2 when a DC or OC departs is not unusual

But I am a bit surprised that there's been no official information, statement or press conference from Dabo regarding his plans for permanently filling the DC vacancy. I fully understand that Dabo may not want to give a name right now but thought he would at least talk about the process for finding a new DC. Maybe he is holding off until he knows for sure who all is leaving in order to address all the vacant coaching positions at one time??
Just seems that recruits may get a little antsy with the lack of official information with nothing but rumors floating around. Maybe the coaches have been contacting the recruits to keep them on an even keel regarding the upcoming coaching changes...

The Interim AD through the BOT can get it done with expediency if Dabo wants it done that way.

it's goodwin/conn at Co-DC and streeter/Richardson at Co-OC.........assuming TE leaves
he doesn't have to announce that to figure it out.

Evidently the boys from IMG have been having other thoughts anyway they bailed quick. No telling who has been in their ear about nil or other.

Kids like stability. He needs to hold some type of press conference to show that something is being done. The program cannot afford to wait on the BOT and AD.

We still may be able to get them back if we make the right hires.

and some of our own fans narrative hurts. The perception that Saban is some evil genius coach, and Dabo is just a "CEO" gets thrown about a lot. I've heard it on the sports talk shows in Raleigh. You hear "anybody could win with Watson or Lawrence, Dabo is just a great recruiter". blah, blah blah. Dabo is a good coach. Period. The problem though is perception. My guess is this lights another fire under Dabo to once again, prove everybody wrong. If he does, people probable still wont give him the credit he deserves.

Yes, he is a great coach and recruiter, but he needs to get in front of some cameras. You’re right in that perception is everything, especially for 18 year olds. They aren’t going to be satisfied with a “wait on coaching hires to get approved”. Guarantee you that schools like UGA have been in these kids’ ears the past week. Wouldn’t surprise me if BV comes after them.

Yes, they are getting ansi. They were last Sat when it was officially announced. Tre Williams and a couple other players have been desperately trying to keep the class together. He told them hang on, there'd be something soon... Or something to that affect. There's a couple other recruits involved too but names escaped me now.
That's why I was so impressed with Oklahoma, and I hate Oklahoma. But less than 24 hours after Riley left, as you know they held a press conference and then immediately put stoops on the road with current and future sooners. I have to think the expedition and united front had to help.
We as fans and alums know it's ok but from the outside looking in, kids reading Tnet that something wrong with everyone bailing at once. Yeah, as a parent that'd make me wonder too.

It would be different if we had 20 players committed.

The whole defensive staff have been out together this week (yesterday) including Goodwin visiting Commits shoring up their commentment. (Been reported on here and other places)

Losing a couple of recruits when coaches leave happens.
The problem has always been in that there were only 13 commits after consecutive playoff appearances when all of the coaching staff was still at Clemson. Something has seemed off about this recruiting season numbers wise, not necessarily quality wise. If you lose 2 out of 22, you can understand. Losing 2 out of 14 hurts , no other way to spin it. Hopefully this is a learning experience for future roster management

Ha, if you see someone getting slung off the North Upper deck, you’ll know it was me.
Seriously, not really stating things many were concerned about several months ago.

Yes, and I was one of them.
It would also be different if this happened in the summer or first game. And yes, 2 out of 14 ain't good. I really consider it less than that in reality. Because, and no offense to these guys, but 1 is a kicker (yes they're important) 1 is a legacy recruit and fall back tight end, and the 3rd is Woodaz... Which I'm stoked to get all of them but those are 2, maybe 3 yrs down the road contributors.

I understand everyone's concerns. Dabo knows what he is doing. Clemson might lose a few recruits but he is on top of it.

Maybe Dabo has little time to hold press conferences right now. In due time he will. We all need to be patient as the process evolves...

I'm sure he has discussed with most recruits. Doesn't need to notify the general public until he feels the need to.
