contrived 1942 National Championship (not AP or UPI/Coaches according to poll history) on the stadium. I worked at UGA in the athletic offices in the 1990's and there was no mention of it anywhere then. I had never heard of it until a couple of years ago. That's kind of pathetic and somewhat takes away from the real natties they have from 1980 and 2021. I'm glad we haven't created a national title for our undefeated 1948 team. I think it would detract from our three real national titles. If Ohio State was the 1942 AP national champ and there was no UPI or Coaches poll until 1945, where is Georgia getting the title from, their imagination?

Look, any list of accomplishments is longer for Georgia that it is for us. Why can't we just proud of our program and our 3, no doubt, best team in the country championships instead of trying to diminish other teams?

stupid enough to confuse TigerNet with Clemson.
Despite that, the modern era of college football actually DID start in 1981.
When Clemson puts that on our stadium, that will be something.
