Is this due to old age..having attended about 25 of our bowls and no juice left..a let down from team bombing out first half of year..opponent not exciting..spoiled..etc?
I admit that if our opponent was what I “consider” a presently big name team in football (GA, OK, PennSt, OHst, LSU, Oregon, TX, Etc) I’d be there for sure.
Strange isn’t it.. the lore & lure of an opponent team’s status & history for one to make a choice to attend, spend time & $, etc.

Love ya, but when you add 42 years to that body, if lucky, you WILL have a different outlook on the life of being a Tiger fan.
HAPPY NEW YEAR AND KEEP THE FIRE BURNING AS LONG AS YOU CAN. It will not be raging if you make it to 81. Unfortunately at that age, one has no idea when the end will come, but one knows it won't be as long as it has been. Life is short at 81. Do what you like while you are physically able. 😁😁😁😁👍

Probably age. Just not physically up to the effort needed to attend. Kinda like been there done that. And, the opponent has about 90% to do with any game one attends. As well as the location.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, BILL!!!!

LOL is used in many ways these days. Kind of like the word F***. Actually, the F word might not be the best example as it is used in an unbelievable number of ways. As far as LOL goes, several uses are too of mind as Insit here on the can:
It can me funny. It can be a sarcastic whatever. It can be a sign of embarrassment

(I know you are in your 80's) you have a different set of values. Physical limitations have some impact plus the realization that your attendance versus another Tiger fan attending really won't make any difference. As my son (an MD) said when asked why he was buying Buffalo Trace (the implication was that alcohol was harmful) he replied "He's 81 years old. He can darn well drink what he wants to drink."
You are a little older than that and you can darn well go or not whatever you want to.

And it’s very close so not to expensive. I won’t lie. Really disappointed in the opponent. It feels like one of those lose - lose situations. If we win, what’s the big deal. It’s a basketball school and it ends a disappointing 9-4 season. If we lose it’s “THE SEC IS BETTER”, “YOU LET A BASKETBALL TEAM BEAT YOU” or the “WE BEAT THEM” from the coots.
I also dreamed of playing against USC (Trojans) since I was very little. I loved there (Pete Carroll days). So I was looking forward to what I would say is my “dream matchup” with the team I would most like to face off against and I feel like the rug was pulled out in front of me. I wish we were playing Texas A&M, LSU or even Tennessee. If we have to play Kentucky I wish it was up in Lexington. I have a close friend up there and when I visit I absolutely love it.
Oh well! Here’s hoping for a win and a good start to hopefully building something special.

Yeah they are. You sound like all the other esecpn homers that build Kentucky up every year... and they're bottom of the sec with coots, vandy, miss st. Good year every now and then until they play a top tier team.
Now, Kentucky with the same coach, same players etc would probably be in the top tier of acc teams if they played in the acc.
If we don't beat

Maybe Spiller can pull off what the coaches didn’t do when we played Kentucky in Nashville. That was a typical Clemson game back then. A real head scratcher.

Kentucky had one of the worst rush defenses in the nation and Clemson had two of the best running backs in college football, yet Spiller and Davis combined for THIRTEEN total carries in that game.
For me, that game marked the beginning of the end of the Tommy Bowden experiment.

Bill, I get it...not a big fan of the UK match up either....but taking my 16 year old boy...we don't play in the Gator that often anymore, one of those bowls I want him to go to. He's excited about it and that is all that matters to me. A couple of days at Amelia tops it off. Gonna wear orange and enjoy the trip. Happy New Year to you, too.

Clemson's been on. BUT here's the positives.... 1) Fairly Close to home. 2) Should be a good game. Well coached, sound team that Clemson SHOULD beat. 3) Good stadium...get seats in the Club, or so I've heard. 4) Supposed to be good weather, albeit a little cool. 5) The Tigers are playing for the last time in a while. 6) It'll be great to see the young tigers play in person as they prep for next year's opener (that's a biggun).
SO....LET's GOOOOOOO!! Go Tigers!

I'm about 2 hrs north of Jacksonville myself and I never even considered it.
Playing Kentucky in a bowl games seems more like a penalty. They're Kentucky, and even if we win it'll be met with the usual "Who cares? It was Kentucky" sentiment. Of course add in all of the opt-outs due to the transfer portal, NFL, etc...and it's even less desirable. Thanks, but no.

Seriously, we’re coming down from the Lowcounty and if come Friday morning you find yourself in the area of Lafayette St at Albert St, come on in to our tailgate and we’ll treat you to some apple pie shine, sausage or ham biscuits, and fried chicken closer to game time.
Even have some Galliano to make that ever popular 70s alternative to the screwdriver- the Harvey Wallbanger!
Spud can come, too, as long as he brings a vinegar pie for his entry fee!
GO TIGERS!
