Lineup questions

Just was thinking, as many of us questioned Monte’s decision to pull Hall for Jolly I also wondered why he left Crommy in the whole game when he just hasn’t been able to hit left handed pitchers. Obviously Crommy made great plays on the hot corner but Byrd it’s good at third as well and we have plenty of people that could play well defensively at second (Hall or Greene) just seems coach has been bitten in the butt with his lineups and substations recently. Hopefully we can find a lineup that’ll put balls in gaps and bring in some runs. Let’s beat the Noles!

I'd like to see Hawkins get a few swings too.

Was thinking the same, especially if no one is swinging it good. Watched him hit in the cages yesterday and he’s a big guy with some pop

Lol? Really? The lineup is set. We don't need Hawkins or Jolly anywhere near it either. When Meredith is healthy again, Cromwell needs to see the bench.
Davidson Beer Williams Wilkie Byrd Wharton (too many rbi's and solid defensively to be benched) Hall Greene Meredith
It's really this simple. Until Meredith gets back it should look like this
Davidson Beer Williams Wilkie Byrd Hall Wharton Greene Cromwell

Wharton is killing us also his batting AVG is down in the 220s. He has some RBIs but he got most of those a long time ago.

I believe he had a hit or 2 last night and a RBI, but I guess I see why Monte leaves him in. Senior leader, great defender and has potential power

The last senior leader we had was Chris Okey tbh. Last year had no leadership as the team just collapsed at the end This year our seniors except Williams are some of the worst hitters on the team

This is the same guy who pinch it Weston Jackson all last year even with his sub .200 batting avg for the majority of the season. How many times did we have to watch weston jackson strike out in late inning pinch hit at bats? Too dang many
He also had Reed Rohlman platooning to avoid lefty on lefty. Reed freakin Rohlman. Our best hitter for AVG 2 of the 3 years we had him. 2015 AND 2017. Rohlman hit .361 last year. Next on the team was Pinder at .305. This goes to show Monte is a "by the book" coach when it comes to lefty vs righty and righty vs lefty matchups. He has no feel for his players. I've said this since he got there and he has proved me wrong once. Mike Triller. That is it. Weston Jackson had a few good games towards the end of last year, but nothing to really pound your chest over.

Yeah agree with Rohlman, arguably our best player last year, why pull him just to have a left on right matchup

It’s because he is so by the book sometimes. I would never take the matchup over a guy hitting .150 higher than the pinch hitter. EVER. It took him forever last year as well to realize Andre cox struggled vs lefties

Rohlman played in 62 games last year and started 56. He was 4th on the team in ABs with 227. He didn’t platoon with anybody. He was sometimes replaced defensively in late innings because he can’t throw a lick and lacked athleticism in the OF. I’m all for you discussing stuff, but at least be factually correct and don’t make stuff up.

########. Last year at the beginning of the year he was platooning with Weston Jackson in left field.
