Has supposedly signed 2.7 million NIL deal to remain at USC. No wonder Cade didn’t answer question on whet he’s coming back after game

They seem to have the money. Maybe the sport will do fine? Maybe it will just never be the same for people like you and me? The younger generation won't even notice the difference one day.

They’re promising money they don’t have yet. It’s all contingent upon the house vs ncaa revenue share settlement. The have nots are promising that money before it arrives.

Teams know if as expected the settlement is approved NIL deals will need to reflect fair market value, so they are loading up, up front. Dennis Dodd had an excellent article about this, also stating if somehow the settlement is not approved and rev share does not come about, these agreements have outs, as the money simply won't be there through NIL alone.
There is a reason we see a team like Texas Tech recruiting the portal like they're Jawja.
As for Sellers, the 2.7 million evaluation as compared to other QB's does not seem outlandish. Cade will likely be 4-5 million barring a generous home town discount.

The college football game is changing so fast some college players are making more than HCs. I watched Division III semi-championship this past week-night and I thoroughly enjoyed watching both teams battle back and forth. This game was very pleasant and relaxing also exciting to see the players balling out from both teams to win the game.

These are NFL level contracts. Meanwhile the guy next to you in the locker room might be getting peanuts. Nothing wrong with this picture.

This exists in the NFL. Dak Prescott, whatever anyone thinks of him, makes about 60mil annually. That is significantly less than the overwheming majority of his teammates.

But the college player in the next locker may be making literally $0. The NFL has a minimum.

Again when On3 reports an NIL number it’s made up BS they have no insight on actual payments. They have a formula that they use to estimate what a guy SHOULD be payed not what they’re actually being paid. He may well be getting that much, but if you didn’t hear it from someone with inside knowledge then whatever you hear is highly suspect.

Why do these numbers come out? I have never seen what Clemson players are signing for.
I did hear from a guy that lived up where Shipley was from in Weddington and he mentioned Shipley was making between $300 to $400,000, but never seen that announced anywhere.

So what happens if he goes through the sophomore slump or gets injured? Would not think these deals would be set up like the pros, but they may.
Will we see trades and players on waivers in the near future?

It’s not announced anywhere. Just like your salary or your income from owning a business aren’t announced. The numbers you see are at best educated speculation, like many things on the internet.

LaNorris Sellars- how long B4 college equivalency of voidable contracts happens?

Colleges are so dirty; still devolving from true institutions of learning into an entertainment venue in which students are customers.
What’s to keep the lesders of dirtiness from using highly unethical tactics to escape from undesirable NIL contracts?
Let’s use the LaNorris Sellers and his alleged $2.7M new NIL deal (presumably spread equally over the next three years.
Sellers gets season ending injury in 1st Qtr of the first game of his sophomore season. He still gets his $900,000 portion of the $2.7M NIL deal. While Sellers is out of action, backup QB Air Noland shows out. Gamecocks FB coaches and boosters decide that they want to redirect the remaining $1.8M of Sellers NIL deal to Air Noland. How do they do that?
Deploy crappy tutors to ‘assist’ Sellers in his schoolwork. Sellers flunks enough courses to lose his academic standing as a student athlete. He is suspended from school for Spring semester 2026. Sellers can’t play FB if he is not enrolled in college. If he doesn’t play FB, then the NIK contract becomes null and void.
This sounds far fetched. But so did multi-million $ contracts for college FB players not long ago. I foresee tactics along these lines used by over exposed NIL big spenders.

If Sellers is getting $2-3mil, that would be for 1 year. Not 3.
Any multi-year contracts will have protections in place on both sides from year to year.

This is an assumption. Nobody knows except for players and agents. I could see it also being "up to $2.7M based on incentives".
Heck, the Tulane QB is allegedly getting $8M split over two years but not like anyone is publishing contracts for public knowledge.
Gonna be some wild stories come up once regulations are put into place to make it all a more even field between schools.

For the last decade, schools have been allowed to cover the cost of a star player’s gap insurance policy.
Since players now are getting paid, I wonder if players are going to have to cover their own, both their gap and their potential replacement insurance.

I think you may be confused with On3’s valuation number. That’s that his raw paycheck.
