Landlord info

Dec 15, 2014, 5:11 AM

For anyone who has seen "The Groves" apartment story, I just want to tell yall the landlord deserves every bit of the bad press. I lived there for a few years, had a few problems with the guy but nothing that got out of hand. Bottom line though, the guy has nothing better to do with his life than bother college kids for no reason.

I had a two bedroom place to myself that had TWO parking spaces, but I couldn't use the other one for guest nor could ANYONE else. It was an empty space the whole time I lived there and he would freak out if someone parked in it for 10 mins just to bring something by to me. There also isn't any marked guest parking, So he tows people all the time. I even had a buddy of mine park in a place that I knew was okay for guest and he towed him. When I asked why he said it was b/c I didn't fill out one of his guest notices. So my buddy drinks too much and I'm supposed to go tell the landlord at 2am that he will be leaving his car overnight? Anyway the car was gone at 8am and I obviously could have taken legal action but it wasn't worth it.

Chuck King is the Landlords name, anyone who has lived there will tell you what kind of person he is.

I don't know the gentleman nor have any details about

the situation with the soldier other than what I've read.

However, I've known various people in my day who have taken their positions to new heights by creating their own little fiefdoms over which they like to cast long shadows. Doing so creates a sense of self-worth in their own eyes, while actually reaping scorn from faux friends and foes alike.

The problem most people have with folks like this is that most of their actions lack common sense and decency. Additionally, the same know that were the tables turned, so to speak, the guilty would scream the loudest.

The only bad part about it is the landlord's brother, who I have to assume handles the business end of things, seems like a nice guy. Chuck is just the ####### brother that got stuck living in a college apartment complex and managing it all, therefore he feels better about himself being able to boss others around like he is some big-shot.

If the reports are true, what baffles me is why the resident

manager simply didn't carry a visitor's form over for the soldier to sign, welcome him home, and explain he's covering the family via the form.

That soldier certainly understands rules; thus, I couldn't imagine him not complying had the manager acted as I've indicated. Such a simple, courteous solution....

it's entirely possible the resident manager did, and that

Dec 15, 2014, 10:22 AM

the soldier told him to go eat a box of ****. I'm just so sick of the flag-waving here. The guy is a solder. Who freaking cares? I assume he knows how to add himself to a lease, if that's what's needed.

If you're sick of "flag waving". Get your tail to Syria...

And it's entirely possible you have no clue what you are talking about. BTW I care. The man is in a profession that requires a sacrifice to protect this country including people like you. Therefore, he is due additional consideration. If you don't agree, guess you can stay sick and tired. I will continue to support members of the military any way I possibly can.

Now, now Vlas...That he is a soldier has little bearing on

Dec 15, 2014, 4:14 PM [ in reply to it's entirely possible the resident manager did, and that ]

the resident manager's alleged actions....He could have been in any occupation and simply been home for a visit with his wife and newborn, and red flags would still have been raised.

The fact that he is a soldier has raised the ire of an overwhelming majority of folks who have responded in various venues. That in of itself speaks volumes for the high regard that many hold for the military.

Those of us who have served or are now serving will, no doubt, be in this soldier's corner, for we simply believe the manager acted with a lack of common sense and decency.

But guess what? The fact that I served has reenforced my belief in your right to your opinions, as well as the right to expression.

This is the result of someone having a tiny bit of power and not knowing how to use it. Imagine him as a policeman.

Looks like the guy apologized and has attempted to remedy the situation, according to his facebook page. I think he should be forgiven.
I'm sure it's put a damper on his Christmas. Everyone makes mistakes.
Let's not forget that holidays are a time for joy-and also laughter-especially at the coots misfortune.

He is so quick to tow cars because he is getting a kick back from the tow company. It cost 60 to 75 to tow a car most places. But when someone calls a tow truck and they impound your car it's sometimes 200. I'm sure chuck gets some of that 200.

Why does a persons occupation matter in this situation?
Rules are rules. A contract is a contract. Without that contract in place people would have 8 people living in a 4 bedroom apartment. I know I would've in college.

It's not personal people. Its a business. The problem is everyone is making it personal. This is a business decision, not a personal attack.
