Key to BB success is

-- fans in seats might not be it. I go back to the Randy Mahaffey years at Clemson.
You had to show up in a line hours before the game to get in. No one sat, it was "all out" at the Clemson Field House, not to be missed. I don't buy it is too far to drive as many fans and lots more students are near these days.
-- throwing more money might help. I am unsure where this money should be thrown. Would more to the coaches motivate them to do the job they took on? The gameday situation now at Clemson is very, very good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGRq6k90OOA
Where is more money needed?
-- a new administration might help - if so we have a new guy this year(but the old guy was great).
I am a huge fan of Tiger Basketball. It aint football, but what is?
The "fire the coaches" routine on tnet has validity as even coaches bench guys not up to the standard. Coach Brownell runs a good, clean program. Basketball history as to cheating pales even football, including here at Clemson. I like the guy.
He is not John Wooden, but who is? What candidate would you replace him with. Don't just post "fire", post your replacement. Finding a better guy is hard.

This is a kinda funny post as I remain in denial. Going forward, college sports are about (NIL) who can pay the most $$ to recruits. Clemson is not one who can. I hate things are changing. Many say for the best, but I still hate it.

Niko Novak who is a hot name at Colorado State. One of the best mid major teams this season. Also was at Furman and did a good job there. Met his wife there so they might want to get back to the area.

“throwing more money might help. I am unsure where this money should be thrown.” Great question. Think JK has posted some ideas about where it might do the most good. I can’t believe our coaching staff are performing less than they should based on pay. If they want/need more money then they should excel at their jobs in hopes getting more money somewhere else.
This year one of the most concerning issues to me is free throw percentage. It’s been awful? So is that a coaching problem or a player problem? Lot’s of people on here will have a more informed opinion that me. I’m like Howard Costell: I never played the game.
Anyway, I’ll be watching tonight and pulling for the Tigers!
Go Tigers

Just my two cents, but

I believe we could land more physical/gifted hoop jr recruits if Brad sacrificed some of his standards, academically and beyond. If you know anything about how he runs his program, the boys get zero slack. He’s the strict daddy that takes no BS. Kids don’t jive with that now.
Bash away and I’m not saying I agree with or don’t agree with this philosophy. Just stating a fact.
Great example are the coots. How they ever landed a recruit that made an NFL roster can only be explained by the young man’s lack of intelligence and or moral fiber or both. We all know their standards are the equivalent of hiring Kamala as your attorney while on death row.

BBO that is what most will not post. You are cutting edge. Academically our Tigers excel. That is the way it should be as to student athletes. A student/athlete coming here has a way above average chance to excel in life.
In these days of milion$ a college degree and solid education is seen as less. All can understand that. Top recruits don't enroll for education. That will be available at most decent colleges. They look for more.
One old tale that may not be true is the coach started up a Fraternity to make Tree Rollins feel welcome.

How does Coach Swinney bring out the character of ten times the players with ten times the responsibility?

I think Brownell needs to let Dawes shoot it more and ask Hall to shoot less 3's.
In the BC game, we were forcing it to PJ too much in the 2nd half. We probably win if we took 4 or 5 more 3's with our guards.

Guarding him all night. Part of the loss was our not getting many calls with a very aggressive and opportunistic BC defense. They sold out to stop PJ and it paid off.

As the Clemson football program had to remind Miguel Chavis, "Players make plays."
